I dont think think its a financial thing as much as its a numbers thing if we're able to offer 30m for a player. We have a bloated squad with Rose, Foyth, Serge, CCV, Sissoko, Lucas & Lamela all needing to be moved on. I read it that any money we get from that will go on top of that 30m. We've already left Rose off the first team and left Foyth off of Europa due to the numbers issue. Plus, we arent helped out by Davies being HG in one but not the other.

I don't accept that a starting CB was a huge priority at the start of the window. The only target we knew about until 2 weeks ago was Kim-Min Jae, who would clearly have been 4th/5th choice at first, and the reliable journos have consistently said that a CB was only a possibility.
