The question for me with Dele is - Can he adapt his game?

If Jose has been trying to get him to add different aspects to his game but Dele is incapable then he'd be right to sell as players need to continuously evolve.

For example, look at Kane. When he first arrived on the scene he seemed to primarily be a goal scorer, for the last 2-3 years he's learnt to drop deep and be a bit of a playmaker. Son has learnt to be more central and play as a striker on the shoulder.

We know Deles strength is in and around the penalty area as someone who can ghost in and score but also has tremendous skill to score improvised goals.

However, he can't play in midfield as he's too slow with the ball, he can't play in a wider position for similar reasons, he can't play up top on his own as he needs to be able to run in. He needs to adapt part of his game, if he could have become more of a CM who drives the team on and dictates, then he'd be even better but hes not faired to well in that role.

Teams evolve styles and set up, since we stopped playing the typical set up under peak Poch, Dele has struggled for consistency and struggled to find his role.

I don't think its just effort as some suggest, I think its having problems evolving.

I think its really simple. Dele peaked 3 years ago and has not hit the same level since. The reason as I say is simple, he cannot perform at the that level on a consistent basis. He has the odd good game in him however, he lacks the energy to do this on a consistent basis. Jose is absolutely right in dropping him as he is not at the level to affect the team. Simple.

Depends on the system we want to continue to play, and whether Dele fits into that.
If the fee allows us to wrap up the remaining bits of business we need, maybe it’s worth a thought. Would make the HG issue more in the balance.

Look at the way the front three rotate. Kane was out wide left at times today, Son showed up next to Kane in the middle and even on the right side of the box. They work off of eachother, create spaces for one another and make the most of it. To me that sounds like something that suits Dele's skill set.

Back to my last post though, with a week to go and an AM just a "maybe", we'd be stupid to chop one of the few players left in the squad who knows where the goal is, especially with Son injured.

With the run of games we have coming up there will be chances and the need to use the squad, the big question for me is whether Dele is up for a fight to show he wants It.

I could see him playing vs Chelsea though, if the system deployed plays to any of his strengths.

But I agree with others. Currently I see Bergwijn and then obviously Bale getting more game time with Son out. Dele might make the bench, but either he has been challenged and is just serving his penance or yeah, he might be let go.

He got the ideal opportunity now with Sonny out for a while. I hope he's fired up and ready to grab it with both hands. Mourinho will know what buttons to push.

will he Bergwijn will come in for Son. And in a few weeks Bale will be ready.
There's a lot of games... like Jose said, there'll be another injury on Tuesday, another on Thursday, and then another on Sunday against Man Utd... We need all the players we have, because if this schedule keeps up, we are fucked.

Have PSG even made an offer for him?

If they actually wanted him they would have gotten him.

So City didn't really want Kouibaly or Messi? And United don't really want Sancho? The indications are that PSG want him, but aren't prepared to meet our valuation.

dier sanchez toby/davies
doherty reguillon
hoijberg lo celso/winks
ndombele/lo celso
kane Alli

I think this makes the best of Sons absence while aking it more difficult for uniteds front 3

When we bought Alli, hadn't he played a lot of games for MK Dons in a central midfield role? He had played in a deeper position rather than just off the striker.
I appreciate he is slow at releasing the ball and doesn't have that much pace, but he could be similar to Andre Gomes at Everton and be more of a playmaker, if he learns to play the ball quickly.
He has the vision and passing skills, as we saw him come back and try numerous passes in the last Europa League match.
It didn't come off for him too much in the game, but he needs to get more involved and work on his passing accuracy and the tempo in his game.

If Dele goes, we should tie it in with Edouard...PSG a have the 40% sell on fee on him.
Loan + Sale of Edouard will be brilliant...with all the financial adjustments done with Dele deal. Ofcourse there is also Celtic in the mix. Surely , if deal can be structured with PSG in mix, could work out for all...
