We're already 5 points behind Everton. If they win today if we end up challenging they will be up there with us. They have no European fixtures this season. Same XI every fucking week. Could be like the Leicester & Chelsea nightmare scenario all over again.

Nah, they don't have the depth.

Unless a miracle happens I can't see Manchester City fighting for the PL title.

Right now Arsenal, Chelsea and United are fighting for one spot at top 4.

Leicester, Leeds, Aston Villa and Everton will def drop down in term of performance after December. Whoever gets more consistency after Christmas will be able to reach top 5.

Unless we fuck up badly, we can reach top 3 comfortably.

Fight for the title ? Too early to say.

Madness to suggest City won’t be challenging for the title.

I agree it would be mad to write them off, but there is a slight whiff of 'end times' about them and Pep's tactics at the moment, reminiscent of late-era Poch. He's an incredible manager but the City fans are really unhappy and they've been in gradual decline for 18 months now without too many signs of improvement. Of course he might pull it around, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they have a poor season either.

The key is that we arent mother fuckers. We play too clean and we play too fearful. When oppositions are about to make a momentum change we should kick the fuck out of them. Im sorry but i rather we win as villains than lose as heroes. Too many times when momentum is about to change our balls shrink instead of fucking the oppositions up
Other alternatives are available.

They’re coming to the end of their cycle under Pep, but they’ve still got more than enough to challenge for the title for me.

I mentioned in the PL thread yesterday that I think Peps City team are done. Whilst they can win the title if it remains as open as it is now. If any team puts a run together I don't see City competing for the title.

A lot of big players and leaders have left in the last two seasons and others are aging now and injuries are catching up with them. The recruitment has not been great and I think results over the last two seasons are showing that. They still have the ability to beat anyone on their day, particularly if De Bruyne plays.

On the whole though I think this is the worst City side since Peps first season, think City are firmly in the bracket of teams behind Liverpool, rather than alongside them as the best teams in the league.

They will be in and around as they have too much quality and there's always a chance with the likes of Dr Bruyne etc.

But too many players have been way off the pace for a while now and that usually points to the end of the cycle for some and possibly the coach.

I remember when we had that initial bad run of form under Poch and we believed we'd be back at it with a couple of changes and players getting fit again. Yet, in reality some of our players couldn't raise the levels they had previously. Also losing Silva and Kompany with Fernandinho getting on now has parallels to us losing Dembele with Vertonghen and Eriksen. Three incredibly important players for them and Kompany was a leader which they seem to be lacking now.

Pep also seems to be lacking something too. Perhaps he's under pressure, perhaps his mother dying has killed his motivation for the game.

I said before the season started that I really wouldn't be surprised if they finished out of the top 4. They lost 8 games last year and have started in a very similar fashion, that points to a rut.

I think we have the best squad depth now, still cant believe I am saying this. From now till the winter transfer window, we really should try to go in front of the lot as much as possible before those corrupted teams threw millions again on getting players in and strengthen their squad.

Aguero isn't getting any younger either.

Agree. They do look a bit flat, but Aguero has been out. Also we think of their weakness being in defence, but Dias looks good and they have Laporte still to return.

Pretty thin squad as far as top quality is concerned though.

Agree with this, think if you offered Ancelotti top 6 right now he would bite your hand off.

I think Everton are one to watch longer term, they have some good talent in their squad and did some great business. Think the squad is still a little bit off a genuine title challenge this season though.

Would love them to make top 4 personally.

If our team can get it together as a defensive unit I think we can storm up into the top spots and seriously challenge. I'm still a little worried about CB and also cover at CDM. Hojberg is looking more and more like a vital cog in the machine for which we don't have a back-up.

I'd add the fact that a lot of players there aren't listening to what Pep says anymore. I dare to think that some of them don't even trust him anymore.

Pep should have gone at the end of last season.

Anything is possible.

Look if someone told us last year, we would be playing in a empty stadium, Bale is playing for us, Kane finally not flogged in all games, Jose is our manager, you would put your house betting against all mentioned.

I chose to be positive and go against the DNA of an Tottenham fan. I believe we can be and will be....premier league champions end of the season. ?
