He looked like an mk dons player tonight. And has done for a long time. A pity he got picked in a completely different front line than he’s ever played in and with winks behind. I saw him one time throwing his arms up for some movement but the guy takes so long to move the ball on it hurts. we Seriously won’t get any more than maybe 20m for him. He’s totally useless.

Everyone that was with him a few years ago has either stepped up or been moved on. He’s been lucky in that his reputation has carried him along thus far. Now with a fresh influx of players, again that hasn’t kicked him up the arse a bit. Jose’s given him numerous chances. Not saying he’s gone backwards but he sure isn’t going forwards.

Should have loaned him to PSG when we had the chance, he would have got game time and improved there especially with the players that they have got.

Sad to see his decline. I fear he is a Quality player who may already have passed his peak.

The biggest problem he has, aside from being unbelievably poor for a while now, is that Harry Kane is basically playing his role and coming deeper. The only way Alli gets in to this team is as a midfielder or as a forward player making runs in behind and he cannot play either effectively.

I really like Dele but he has been poor for a while... im not sure if we are not using him properly and expecting him to play a role that doesnt suit his skill set or he just lost his mojo.

I think he needs to go on loan - perhaps Italy? Roma or somewhere like that... Seems like he needs a reset and moreso a change... things have gone stale

I just don’t think what Harry is doing has anything at all to do with Dele’s problems. He is just not very good and can’t be relied on, had his moments In the past but they are all distant memories now and when he gets a chance like today he needs to bust a gut and show he wants it. Didn‘t do enough to suggest he will be anything other than a squad filler.

Thing is IF you are out of form and out of the team you do something about it. Bare minimum is maximum effort. Bust a gut to win the ball back, and at least you show the manager you want it. That isn't affected by what position you are being asked to play.

Dele is still meandering around like he rules the roost. Little output, accompanied by little effort equals a sure fire way to be moved on, and I can very much see this being the case now.

Have to agree with meandering around comment, he was so disinterested in retrieving the ball after he gave it away. It was around the 35 min mark when he again misplaced a pass in middle of park and sauntered after the Antwerp player to try and retrieve it.
If that's his reaction to getting dropped by not only spurs but England then I hope he enjoys playing in East London before he's 28

I love Dele as a player, but Trix is spot on with this!!

This was a massive test for him.
Basically his old position & style doesn’t exist at Tottenham any more (not arguably for England currently) so he needs to evolve & develop as a player. Arguably he needs to learn how to become a midfielder rather than a no 10.
Last night he went backwards in his development

fastest and most dramatic decline of any Spurs player I can ever recall. Each game he plays, i hope this is it......he's going to turn it around and become the Dele we all loved, but it doesn't happen.

Part of it over his long 18-24 month decline I'm sure was down to complacency. His rise was meteoric from nothing and when your 22/23 years old, perhaps not mature enough to handle it. Right now, i suspect it more down to confidence and psychology than hard work and application.

Cannot see him turning his Spurs career around now but desperately hope he proves us all wrong

Can't wait till this guy is gone.

Nowhere near good enough and just embarrassing himself and Tottenham every time he's on the pitch.

Thanks for the memories, Dele, but time to go and join a club at your level, i.e. championship at best.

Add complacency to these two and you have the recipe for toxic form.
