IF he is so bad (I know) why is his coach still playing him in games that really matter.

No answer to this? I know Turkish football is in a bit of bother atm, does that mean he's earning wages for not playing any games, again?!

He has started three games for them in the League + CL?

I'm guessing you saw him starting him against United and basing the above on that?

That's funny, so qualification for Europa is also coming under CL group stages too rather than just via league position. Thanks for being shit Man Utd.

who was the player at Sunderland that drained that club dry? Came in a big deal and wouldn't take a payout of any kind. Rodwell? was it, this guy has shades of that.

Different situation really. My stepdad is a huge Sunderland fan so I remember following this.

Rodwell had a lot of bad injuries. It wasn't exactly his fault. But he was signed on astronomical and unsustainable wages at the time, by their old regime. There was no type of relegation release or wage reduction fee in his contract. He had no obligation to amend his contract to appease some dreadful financial management. He was made a bit of a scapegoat.

Big club Sunderland with some of the worst owners consecutively in living memory.,

Ndombele is just a waster. Our fault for signing him though.

I was surprised to see that he's played in 4 of Gala's 6 UCL games getting 90 minutes of football. I had at first thought it was funny we'd made more money from the loan despite him barely playing.

A friend of mine was involved with the medical staff at Sunderland around this time. The club's owners hit on the bright idea that good French players were available cheaply, so they bought a few, only to find that the French players formed their own "club within a club", spoke only French when in the presence of club staff, and pretended not to understand when given instructions in English.

My friend, who is a good French speaker, even reported hearing them discussing how best to describe coherent symptoms of imaginary ailments to avoid having to play in fixtures they didn't fancy. By then, the club had already come to the conclusion that they were taking the piss, but they had to keep paying them anyway.

Compared to them Jack Rodwell is probably held in pretty high esteem!
