I thought he was clearly signed by Paratici who had scouted him previously. You can see there's a player there but may never happen in this league. It happens and to be fair his hit rate has been excellent overall.
Yeah I think he was an alternative to Kvaratskhelia who Paratici also wanted and were very close to signing apparently.

But I waited way more than three seasons before I started doing it. You have no idea how many chances I've given you! 🤨

Reported!!!

News doing the rounds that if he goes out on loan, he wants an option to buy in the move. Sounds like he doesn't fancy the challenge now Werner is here if you ask me.

No loss at all. Pretty bad signing when considering the fee. He's never making it at a big club is he?

I think the Gil signing is typical of the problems with buying young players in the current market.

He was playing well for his club and looked to have a good future. But he wasn't physically developed enough for the Prem.

His development would likely have been better if he'd stayed where he'd be playing more regularly. But if we'd held off and he'd progressed, his price would have increased.

I just think he went to the Prem too early.

Bryan doesn't wanna go
I know i'll be very much in the minority here but i'm quite pleased by this. I like his attitude on the pitch, always moving and wanting the ball. He's looked better the past few games (yeah, it's a low bar i know).
If he's happy to be a squad player and will continue to show the same commitment then i think he has a place in this squad. Just like Skippy, i think a consistent run of minutes and an injury free run of training will see them continue to improve.

We will never have a squad full of superstars, we will always need to have 3 or 4 players with the right temperament (like Ben Davies) that never complain and will always contribute when called upon.

Bryan doesn't wanna go
For me this is great news, even as someone who doesn't rate Bryan. I have been thinking about if we fall short this year and how much of our squad would be willing to stick around and minimise disruption over the summer so we can continue building next season. If the fringe players are fully buying in then it really feels like we can hang onto everybody we need and turn this into something special

ange likes him but as a rotation and thats it.
Thing is he’s still 22 so it’s not as if he can’t get a lot better, like Johnson. Issue is that if he isn’t given more then the odd 10 mins here and there it’s going to be very hard for him to develop further here.

Then there is the question if we buy another young WF such as Nusa or Rowe then his minutes will likely evaporate. Plus we have Solomon coming back who I’m assuming will start getting real minutes unless Ange decides he isn’t a good fit. Going to be hard for Gil.

Provided all parties are happy with that, and does not cause issues with foreign players in squad, then i see no issue here.

If he can develop a bit physically then still see that he can contribute - he has a reasonably high skillset and not afraid to work so there is much for Ange to work with.

At present his minutes will be limited, so he will have to work damned hard in training to develop before Ange sees him as anything more than a rotational player - but you you need some of those in a squad.

Much will ultimately depend on any 'younger' incomings and his market value.

I wouldn't want to go when 1) There is a good vibe around the team and 2) I am starting games.

If I get dropped and no more games, I wil feel less vibed about staying.

He'll be gone come summer IMO

I think the PL wages are enough to keep a fair few players ‘happy’ these days unfortunately, similarly to Lo Celso. Even though those 2 are nowhere near our highest earners. I’d imagine the wages aren’t as much in Europe for fringe type players however.

So much depends on where a players real motivation lies as to when and where they move on to.

I'd like to see him get a good goal. Wonder if it might give him a bit of confidence that's lacking - he defers to others a bit too much imo.

I simultaneously like the guy and also don't think he'll be good enough moving forward. At the very least he'll always work hard and keep the ball moving.

If he was a similar price to Udogie and Sarr the relative miss would be a lot easier to take.
