What’s that logic? 🤣

So you’re saying that because Ndombele turned out to be a flop, that we should never spend money on a young player again?
The point is its easy for fans to say splash £30m on a prospect, then become deadwood if flops, and splash again on another one just its cos its not your money.

Destiny cost under £20m
Sarr cost £10m
Deki was £25m

There are players out there at the right value.

Haha no we didn’t clubs line fed to pok . Brentford have agreed a fee and the player has accepted to go there it’s not done yet it’s upto Tottenham now match it and it’s ours however I don’t think this will be the case now . seems that bidding war they wanted they got. Formally the price in line was 22m and we would wait until July for him to come ange then wanted him now and the price went up instantly which put back the deal slightly which is normal and the player was open to that but preference was waiting . Brugge then turned the screw last week opening up the deal inviting other clubs and Brentford have bitten it. Nusa I would imagine sees himself playing week in week out under frank which then regardless gets him a major move in 2/3 years. Transfers are never ever certain regardless of how advanced they are.
Seems like us wanting him now messed up the deal. Don't really understand that. We have Werner until the summer to fill that gap.

Surely makes a lot of sense to just get him in the summer when Sonny is on his way out, maybe Werner has influenced this one, which I think is a risk in itself as he could not come good and we'll be short at LW in the summer with Sonny on his last legs

You don’t have to apologise for the situation WLB. You have no responsibility! Unless you do, Johan. 👀

hes been shocking and if that is what we have settled for, no way we challenge anything more than scraping a CL place. We saw that on Friday night.

Save a few mill now to spend ten times more later. as usual not really forward planning by the club.

People jumping on the Levy hate parade, you don't get every player that you go in for.

Maybe we need a player now and Nusa won't come now. Maybe Bruge want a big sell on % which we're not willing to give. Maybe Nusa thinks he's more likely to get more playing time for Brentford.
Maybe this is Bruge way of pushing us to give them what they want.

We've done some awesome business of late, people were the same when we missed out on Raya, look what happened there.

We can't blame Levy for every failed transfer, not without knowing the full details.

I'm not a Levy fan boy bye the way, I just try and apply logic rather than hatred.
Agreed can't win them all but.it seems we put.a hit.load of effort and energy in to this one and if you target someone as a club and the manager wants it we should of got this over the line imo.

I mean ultimately you cant blame the lad for choosing an arguably much better place to adapt and progress his career at Brentford. Lets not pretend they're some mugs, this is their model same as Brighton and they have a fantastic development coach in Thomas Frank.

Be interesting to see if we move for a different winger this window or will just hold off to summer. Personally I’d be surprised if we went for someone else as Nusa seemed like an opportunity to get ahead of our rivals rather than a necessity after getting Werner. Ether way passing on Nusa is a real shame. As I mentioned at the start of the thread he is one of the most exciting talents in his age group.

Move makes sense for him tho if we aren’t going for him. As you say he will get game time and I’m sure he knows it would be a stepping stone if he he performs. Disappointing part is that like Kvaratskhelia for example, if he improves to the level we believe he can then his value will be beyond us.

From the guy who initially reported:

The English #BrentfordFC joins the battle for Nusa. The offer is currently insufficient and lower than what #THFC in particular wants to pay - an amount that is now approaching 35 million euros. Also #NUFC is gradually becoming concrete for the Norwegian @hlnsport @ClubBrugge 🇳🇴⏳

Would imagine this would bring the end of our transfer window to be honest.
Still a very positive one with Drag & Timo, and getting Perisic, Lloris and Dier off the books!

On a side note, how hilarious would it be if Brentford went down! Antonio would enjoy the Championship!

Credit to POK on this one I guess. Hopefully our plan B ends up being better, they often do
