Incredibly stupid free kick to give away. Fuming.

Other than that, we looked much better with him on the pitch. Bentancur and Brennan were so reactive. With Sarr and Deki we actually started to control the game.
Spot on. Everton looked far more threatening before Deki and Sarr came on. Lost count of the number of corners they had in the first half, and they looked like scoring each time. Silly from Kulu for that free kick...and they scored.

Not sure i agree. Looked like conceding in the last 15. Don't think we had control at all.
Well, not sure if it was possible for us to control anything when Ange hooked Maddison and then PEH. Don't get those decisions at all. About the time Maddison left the pitch I was actually starting to feel calm.

One of the main reasons for that was Sarr and Deki taking hold of the ball.

Deki should maybe have had an assist as well.

But his performance will be remembered for giving away that free kick. And he deserves all the criticism he gets for that one.

So frustrating that neither Kulusevski or Johnson are making the first team spot their own. Both out of form at the same time is really hurting us especially with Son away. Unless we get a big game next weekend from either of them then try Werner right when Son returns.

If not the injuries we could have used Perisic and Solomon instead of them...

The right side of our attack is a big worry moving forward . Both him and Johnson lack confidence and have limited ability in certain situations

I am not sure why we do not try to put Kulu on the left and Werner on the right (esp whilst Son is away.)
At least they will be crossing with their stronger feet! and should be more accurate!

You'd think it would be worth a try at least.

All he needed to do today was run with that ball up the touch line in stoppage time but he chose to cut inside we then lost it and ended up giving the foul away. We have such poor game management.

He is no better than a squad/rotation option. Frustratingly slow, painfully single footed, constantly makes the wrong decision between passing and shooting and just doesn’t look suited to this system whatsoever. Unfortunately for us, his only real competition (Johnson) is even worse.

We definitely need a proper dribbly right winger in the summer.

For some reason, Donald Trump came to mind.

Fire up the wheelbarrow of cash and take it to Palace for Olise.

Stick him (or any other dynamic right winger) in our team and we would get so much better.

Son—Richarlison—Olise

That’s a nice looking front 3.

I just feel like Kulusevski slows our attack down too much.

If we want to take all four comps seriously I think Kulu could be a superb utility player, and we get that next stage winger, rarely injured and most of the time and usually quite reliable at helping to see games out, silly freekicks aside.

I think it makes more sense with Werner as he is a more natural direct runner. I don't think it suits Kulusevski who is more comfortable to receive the ball into feet and come inside. I don't see him as one to instruct to play on the outside as he doesn't have pace for that (Gil has a similar issue but just doesn't have the strength to hold it up either). While off form I would probably just use him more central from the bench. Especially when Son returns we could then have Werner and Johnson as pacey right forwards.

With the wonder of hindsight that might have been the play today, Kulu for Madders, push Porro up and Johnson off Emerson on.

I really like Olise and would be so happy if we signed him. But, I actually think Neto maybe suits us slightly better, as he can play on either flank and seemingly equally as well. But I'd be delighted with either and I'm also of the opinion that Eze could play wing forward on either side no problem. At Palace he plays as part of a midfield 3, but with his skill set he could play any of the LWF, RWF or number 10 for us. No full back is going to want to take Eze on.
