They fast tracked him because he's also eligible for Ghana but I agree about him ignoring Loftus-Cheek.
Rubbish about Ghana. Do you really think he would choose Ghana. Friendlies don’t count. It has to be a competitive game to tie him to a country.
Miles better than Gallagher will ever be. Gallagher can run around, Kobbie can play.

We’ve massively underperformed for Southgate’s entire tenure. The World Cup and Euros runs were solely down to fortuitous draws. The second England play a half decent side, he reverts to sticking everyone behind the ball and hoping Kane can hold the ball up and create something. He should’ve gone after we lost to a pretty rank average Italy team at the Euros.
Who did England Play in the 1990 World Cup before Germany. Nobody! Who were the great teams England knocked out in euro 1996 under Venables. You tell me.
Italy were on a 35 game unbeaten run when they won the euros.
Getting bored of reading such uninformed crap. Most successful manager since Ramsey, like it or not.

We battered Holland 4-1 and beat Spain in 96

I’m not after a row but no one had easier runs in tournaments than Southgate. Apart from that Germany game at home what performance can you hang hat on.

Jurgen Klopp
I saw someone else mention Klopp earlier and I think that’s be a great shout, hadn’t even thought of it before but hopefully with Southgate going to Man U in the summer and Klopp leaving it might align.
I could see Klopp actually doing something decent with what he’d have at his disposal

Records aside, do you really think Southgate is getting the best out of the players available?
He freshened things up when he first arrived and did a lot of good things but it's gone backwards since and is just simply boring and cowardly football.

Of course he's the most successful manager since we last won something but we really should be more competitive than we are.
We're more scared of losing than we are wanting to win.

Calling people who expect better from a very good bunch of players "uninformed" is the best way of killing any proper conversation and will only put people's backs up.

As painful as both 96 and 98 were, we played some enjoyable football then and actually tried to win games.

It actually blows my mind that people defend Southgate.

I suggest you actually look into that unbeaten run Italy had. They won games they were expected to win and drew games against difficult opposition. Hardly set the world alight.

England should be European champions at the very least. We have a world class first XI and significant squad depth to match it.

Unfortunately for us, the man in charge of that talent is an imbecile who picks his favourites over players actually deserving of a place in the national team. All selecting the likes of Jordan Henderson does is tarnishes the prestige and the legitimacy of playing for England.

I can’t see how it’s any stranger than you asking someone else who would win the euros/World Cup in response to someone saying Southgate should be sacked?
Why? If Southgate is sacked, then wondering who succeeds him seems a pretty basic and obvious question.

If people think he's doing a bad job and should be fired, surely we only want that if others can do a better job.

That's a strange answer to my question.
It's not really strange, he's just asking a question in return.

I know that some on here think Southgate is great because, you know, stats and stuff but in all honesty have you been impressed with the last couple of years?
The football has been stodgy and negative, picking players on reputation not form.

It’s clearly an issue for debate but I’m almost certain a majority of people (including me) would prefer Graham Potter or Eddie Howe to Southgate as a starting point.
