So what’s the score with his body? Will he never pass a medical or able to be insured?
Insurance won’t be the issue here. I work in this field. And we cover premier league clubs. Medical history isn’t taken into account usually and spurs are part of the premier league trust anyway

Thanks for the updates Ghost.

I hope we are still looking at Nusa, as long as his injury problems aren’t too bad.

Onyedika looks a really good player and certainly someone who would fit the kind of profile we’re looking for, without costing a fortune. Hope we are watching him.

Onyedika is really coming into his own this season, he was also very good against POAK in the ECL mid week and supposedly we had scouts at the game, a lot of Brugge fans think he is their best player for what it’s worth. He also regularly plays as the lone 6 in a middle 3, not a double pivot although he has done in the past, so would suit the solo role in our midfield. I honestly think he’s got a very bright future and has gone under the radar a bit.

I actually watched back some of their PAOK game the other day on the TNT app to watch him and Nusa.

Looks really impressive.

The two of you should do a podcast
I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one who’s tune in

I'm so on the fence with Werner it's ridiculous. I know his wages are high but part of me still thinks it's a good deal, especially if we bring an a younger player like Nusa.

Sales are going to be a big part of anything we do.
I change my mind on Timo from game to game, which kinda suits the way he plays really.
To badly quote an angry little Italian "sometimes good, sometimes shit".

This week I'm peering down on the side of not signing him and thinking that the grass looks nicer on that side.

I like him, I really do but I'm just not convinced that he's good enough for where we want to be.
To be honest, he offers less than BJ and is much older so unlike Johnson, he's not going to get better. I think we need something more than just speed on the wing, we need a bit of guile.

I agree, I really wanted Werner to work out for us, and whilst he’s been quite good at times, I’ve decided quite good at times isn’t good enough any more.

Yeah, I'm trying to not be too reactive due to our recent form but I'm definitely leaning over to the 'don't sign him' side.
He'd be a great squad player to have about the place but at the moment, we need more than just adding squad options.

@Ghost Hardware meant to say earlier on the subject of young wingers, if we want a serious talent who can play the 10 and cover wing roles, we need to seriously be looking at Desire Doue imo.

He also has the kind of explosiveness where he’d be comfortable wider if we coach him but his positional flexibility would probably be more like Musiala.

I think there’s a significant chance he becomes world class if he develops as expected. Mad talent.

Bilal El Khannouss might be another to watch who is very creative as a 10 and can also play wide. Seems to have been watched regularly by Spurs and a host of top clubs..

Haha for the last two days my Twitter time has literally been full of clips of that goal he scored against Toulouse on the weekend. Yeah he’s easily one of the biggest young talents in France atm along with Yoro, Zaire-Emery and probably Restes.

Be interesting to see what happens to him this summer, his contract only runs until 25 but I don’t think Rennes want to loose him. Im not sure if they have an extension option, if they don't and he doesn't want to extend then they have a big problem. He’s started featuring more prominently recently also. I think many assumed he be playing a larger role sooner due to him breaking through last season but Rennes new manager wasn’t using him much in the first half of this one.

He certainly a big talent, much better suited to the wing at the moment tho. If they don't extend his contract whoever grabs him could get a bargain. He is still rather raw and probably needs a full season as a starter before moving but I agree with you he has a lot of potential. One would hope we are watching him.

I'd add Junior Kroupi in that list of prodigious French talent coming through as well although plays predominantly more central.

In the younger group France have some crazy talents coming through for sure Ayyoub Bouaddi, George Ilenikhena at Antwerp, Rayane Messi who just scored his first pro goal at only 16 and is very highly rated plus Kroupi as you mention. There’s so many more as well. All need more time to develop before moving imo.

Tbh tho if I was going to try and get one player from the sub 18 year old category that player would be 16 year old Argentinian Franco Mastantuono at River. I think he looks an absolute world class talent in the making.

Him and Echeverri look destined for greatness - obviously the latter already in City's grasp and will be fascinating how he develops there under Pep.

For me, and keeping our strong Scadi theme going, i'd love us to pair Bergvall with Sverre Nypan going forwards as he looks a real classy midfielder - think Modric crossed with Odegaard and i'd be amazed if he wasn't on our radar albeit he's only 17.

Why is everyone suggesting number 10s that can play wide? That doesn't really seem the profile Ange uses in the winger role.

The wingers need to stay high and wide and really stretch the play and when receiving the ball be able to beat and man and deliver to the right place. The problem with number 10/winger hybrids is that they always want to get involved and (like Deki) will be eager to come inside. This is not what Ange wants. He likes Werner and BJ because they hug the side of the pitch and get into the box.

The profile should be a strong, fast and dribbly winger who can't cross and score.....yep basically the complete package

I think everyone is in agreement that we need one if not two dedicated wingers in summer. That’s not really being debated, it’s more that when we come to replace Gio, who is likely off in summer, then getting a number 10 who is versatile and can also play wide gives more options. So essentially what you are adding is 1 or 2 wingers plus a no 10 who can also play wide. It just gives us more options in attack and also allows Gio’s replacement to play a more prominent role then just being Maddison’s back up.

Nobody is saying that getting a versatile 10 should be the primary target for the wing position. I think most would be against that.

I understand that but my thoughts are that we already have that player in Kulusevski. He can play #10 and winger if required, hell he could probably play an 8 too.
If we assume Gio, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon and Gil leave in the summer and Werner is bought as a back up option that leaves us needing a LW, RW and a DMC with Deki competing for #10.

At the moment Deki is struggling to make relatively simple passes and his shooting leaves a lot to be desired. Im not sure he is ideal as a secondary backup to Maddison. A third option, yes, but we need someone to challenge Maddison for a starting spot. For whatever reason, Lo Celso isn't favoured, possibly because he is regularly injured and can't be relied upon. Conte also wasn't a fan, so perhaps his intensity in trainning isn't great.
I think a genuine 1v1 winger is our no.1 priority, then looking at a AM and a DM.
However, it does depend on how well Solomon recovers. I think he could be a real talent, but his injury record for us and Fulham is shocking.
