I’d take a draw right now too. Mainly due to Fulham and Newcastle performances. A point right now would be good.

The thought of them winning at our joint, makes me feel sick, so I’m visualising a late couple of goals and a rousing comeback in the second half.

We're hopeful Porro makes it.

I actually think Davies coming in, with VDV beside him, actually tightens us up.

As long as Porro makes it, we look strong at the back.
Not if he continues to play the suicidal high line..saka & martingale will kill us with the wide open spaces behind the fullbacks

He need to realise this is not Sushi Rangers Koala Wanderers or Lochness Monsters United we are up against

We don't need 3 points. We are almost certainly going to finish 5th - and play in Europa League next season - which is a big step up from the European League we played in this season...

I would happily take a draw right now - because that damages Arsenal's season far more than our own.

It’s not almost certain. Villa are in the driving seat because they have the points in the bag but we are six points behind having played two matches fewer.

Ok you can say we have more difficult matches but look at some of the matches where both us and Villa have dropped points this season and look at some of the matches where we have both won.

It’s also worth remembering that when we first qualified for the Champions League we did it by defeating Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City in the space of about ten days. When we qualified for the Champions League under Conte defeating Arsenal at home was pivotal. When we made it to the Champions League final we looked totally dead and buried.

A big result and performance against Arsenal will go a long way.

Could we not swap VDV and Davies about. Davies more than capable of playing beside Romero...

Use VDV's pace to nullify Saka...who's their biggest threat, lets be honest.

Build up most of our attacks down the right.

A lot of the tension in this game will depend on the Chelsea arsenal game this week.

If they lose that, then this game is just a NLD with three points up for grabs. If they win that game, then it becomes more about stopping them winning the title, and the stress levels go through the roof.

I expect Chelsea will bend over for them, and this game will be so stressful and tense that many might not survive :)

As i said in an earlier post, us fans need to have a good game - it has to a nasty, hostile, horrible and defeaning atmosphere from before the match, in the high road and until the final whistle.

Nah, I disagree. We need the three points. We have the tools to beat them and catch Villa. Should we just give up? I hope the players have a more positive mindset than you, otherwise we won't get far.

If we're moving Mickey to the left we might as well just use Dragusin beside Romero

This sort of thing has been repeated all season. But do you honestly think you, and all the posters on here, all the pundits, all the journalists, all the podcasters etc can see something Ange can’t? So what, he spent his career coaching in Australia, Japan and Scotland. Where have we ever coached?

We have every right to criticise him and question his tactics and whether he’s up to the job. But the idea some blokes sitting at home typing on their phones can see something Ange can’t because he’s never coached in the Premier League is just silly.

VDV is too crucial in chasing down through balls and long balls.

If he's playing on the left and tucking into midfield, he won't be there to chase down those attacks.

If we had a proper defensive midfielder we would be ok as VdV covers across to the left and the DM drops back. It's too risky to experiment now but if we find ourselves out of top 4 contention I would try Dragusin in defensive midfield. One thing that worked better for Poch was how Wanyama or Dier would split the centre backs allowing the fullbacks to bomb forward. Effectively like a back 3 when pressed forward. We just don't do that because nobody is defensive enough in midfield to spot the danger. Maybe we can do as we did with Dier for Dragusin. For this one I wouldn't risk it though and go with Hojbjerg in that role instead.

What I want to see above all else is high intensity pressing. I don't want to see this slow build up first half. We've had 2 weeks off and should be fresh. Yet every time we've had a break we've been slow starters. We need to be in their faces from the start to finish. No excuses for tiredness etc. If we do that the atmosphere will stay up as well and we give ourselves the best chance to win.

Well thats the risk.

I dont expect Agne to do it, but Dragusin is no slouch, maybe he could slot in beside Romero.

If South stand tickets for this game were on ticket exchange, how much would they cost? Using that as fair price to person i transferred my son's ticket too (he's on holiday).

Would anyone consider Emerson LB if Porro is fit? Nullify the threat of Saka constantly cutting in on his left?
