Respecfully disagree mate.

If they beat us and go on to win the league, everyone will remember it.

Secondly, about making a few tweaks, its not rocket science, it be could as simple as not always pushing our full backs high up the pitch at every opportunity.
Off topic but are people still thinking they will win the league? City have Brighton (shit) Forest (shit) Wolves (shit) Fulham (shit) Us (currently shit) and West Ham (shit). Where do people think city will drop points? They won’t. 👍 And Arsenal Won’t win the league either.

Yeah we need something like that Poch masterclass in 2017 against Klopp at Wembley. Sat in a bit more than usual, played Aurier LB against Salah and we destroyed them

OK, but they’re having a longer laugh..
They did under Wenger. We finished above them about 6 seasons running. They are at 2 seasons now. Like I say it has it's ups and downs. If they win the league it will give them massive bragging rights for sure but it's still low in comparison to the Wenger era anyway. If they finish 2nd or 3rd it's what Poch did with us.

I'd try to use the fact Udogie is out to our advantage. Davies is a steadier player and could give us more solidity. I wouldn't be asking him to venture forward too much and to pick his moments. The main thing is hopefully to have Porro on the other side providing balance.

Another option is to play Royal left back to give us similar.
Udogie did an amazing job marking saka last time, one of our best players.

it would be silly to say Ange won't make tweaks. All good managers do, be it positions, instructions etc.

but it would be silly to change a formation (fully) or put ten defenders on the pitch. the concept of a philosophy is that it is used in the good times and the hard times. and making the players switch the conte-ball (for example) would undo all the good work.

if the players believe, and play for the shirt, we have a great chance.

Last 9 league games at home to Arsenal. W6. D2. L1. The loss was last year when we were a shambles.
What are we worrying about . They should be worrying, we can destroy their dreams.!!!

I don't think anyone is saying we should park the bus? Just keep an extra player back and try to play with a bit more control. I also think that sort of tactical tweak can give confidence to the attacking players knowing there is cover behind them.

City are not that good at the moment. Should have lost at the weekend. I hope we are not in a position to hand Arsenal the league by beating them.

Yeah i agree with you, maybe if i'm coming at it from a different angle.

We know Martin Ood is running the midfield, get someone to stop the pass from happening. We know Rice is hounding and retrieving - let's not have Madders getting caught out by him.,

about instructions and positions.

I can see Goons playing it very cagey, and sitting deep with the aim to pick us off. They’ll play not to concede and back themselves on the counter. Thats the get a result option they need at this stage of the season. We are going to have a lot of the ball.

And this is what is the worry. Prior to this season I never thought artetas ego would allow him not to dominate possession but this season he has mixed it up

They are a complete side and it's fucking annoying

They are just not as lethal as previous seasons so can see them dropping points for sure

They’ll drop points in at least one of those games. Forest or Fulham away won’t be easy.

That is actually not true.

Udogie has missed 4 league matches.

Davies and Porro. (GW 10)
Royal and Porro (GW 12)
Royal and Porro (GW 25)
Davies and Royal (GW 26)

Royal looks to be first choice FB when a starter is out.

But, I would not rule out any combination here - particularly with Dragusin available for either a back 3, or to move VdV out to LB.
AFAIK Royal played there when Davies was needed at CB?

There seems to be an air of despair hanging over this game with most people talking damage limitation.
I'm afraid I can’t agree, we play our game and see what happens, we are a long way from being ready to challenge for the title but getting there is what we need to be concentrating on not this one off derby. Trying to do something different and still losing will be even worse.

The fucking state of this place. Bunch of wet wipes.

"Oh Arsenal are so great they're going to batter us I hope we can keep it respectable."

Give your heads a wobble for fuck sake. Listen to our manager and how he speaks about the mentality and what needs to change. It's not just the club mentality, it's the fans too. Liverpool are absolute freaks but they have an unhinged belief in their team. So do Arsenal the last two seasons but they take it to weird levels in some respects.

Follow the managers belief. Get behind him and the team.

Damage limitation my arse. Itll be damage limitation for them on Sunday. Their GD is going to take a walloping.

We need to keep our heads.

Play as crazily as we did against Chelsea and we could make it real tough for us.

Be aggressive and rattle them but be smart too

We have some players who just cannot be trusted to do this.

Romero, Bissouma, Richarlison, Maddison, all capable of being played and wound up by opposition players.

We absolutely cannot play that high line against these lot. They'll quite happily let us have the ball and know full well we'll give them 3/4 clear one on ones in the game, and plenty of good chances in general.

I'll be pretty pissed off if the game plays out like the Newcastle game. Ange will have huge questions to answer.

So what if we get embarrassed? We take it on the chin and move on. Worst case scenario we finish fifth, or maybe sixth if we lose most of our matches.

I don’t think we will be embarrassed but I don’t think we should be scared either. I actually think the most embarrassing thing is how scared some of our own fans are of losing.
Well when you hate Arsenal as much as many of us do and you’re surrounded by Gooners then you should most definitely be scared of losing and the potential consequence of that lot winning the league.

I personally see us as the only obstacle between them Lifting the trophy as I’m convinced City will drop points and I’ve no doubt Arsenal win their remaining matches.

For me, being a complete hater, I’d happily finish 10th this season if it means them missing out.

So as easy as it is for you to say “take it on the chin and move on” for many of us the passion / hatred runs a lot deeper than that and shouldn’t be down played.

Being apprehensive about facing your fiercest rivals, who happen to be in red hot form and chasing the title (and making the odd humorous post about it) does NOT equate to not getting behind the team though.

If they win the league they win the league. We need to worry about ourselves.

I just find some of the comments over the last few pages pretty pathetic. Adult men who can’t handle the idea of losing a match.

If we lose, we lose. If they win the league, they win the league. They won it once at our stadium and we got over it and became stronger in the following years.
