We should have hung onto Llorente for another season IMO (and at least tried to play to his strengths when called upon).

All true but I don't see where Dele fits in with 3 in CMF. He doesn't produce anything much playing wide and if he is to play it would compromise Son and Bergwijn. Will probably get howls of derision, but, much as I like Dele, I'd be OK with losing (obviously for astronomical money) him if we...

I don't see where Dele fits in in all sorts of scenarios. Unless you constantly re-jig the team around him we always seem to be weakened in a key area to fit him in. We really need 3 in midfield with GLC and Ndombele but then you get a lopsided front line if Dele wants to tuck in. He's too risky...

    Have you missed football?

I was told many, many years ago that statistics could invariably be manipulated and used to support any given agenda. I've seen nothing throughout the rest of my life to disprove that theory.

    Have you missed football?

The period often referred to as the 'new manager bounce'. The stuff after that was as bad as anything that preceeded it IMO.

Didn't really get much idea of his defensive abilities from that and that's what we really need - somebody who can read the game well and organise the others around him. Having said that, the price looks tempting and I expect that's the kind of price range Levy will be happier with. Don't think...

I think we most probably did talk to Bruno Fernandes but more as a tactic to get Betis to stop fucking around over Lo Celso.

Tanganga did get a few chances but Skipp got next to nothing, even though we were crying out for somebody in there who'd put their foot in.

It makes sense from a financial point of view but I can't think of any manager less likely to develop young talent than Mourinho. Would really like Campos on board though.

I'm inclined to agree since I think it will prove very difficult to prise Levy's hands off the steering wheel.

    Newcastle buyout

I don't think they give a fuck about their reputation and I think they know it can't be washed clean. IMO, a big football club today is what a 'Super Yacht' was 20 years ago - i.e. the ultimate rich man's toy. They just want to get into a dick waving contest with Mansoor.

I still think Juan Foyth has all the raw ingredients to make a very good DM with the right coaching. He's very good on the ball and really just needs to concentrate on eliminating the mistakes and subsequent rash decisions.

The DM role is now primarily about positional awareness and ability to read the game. There's also a lot of athleticism involved and we don't have a player that ticks those boxes. Tackles need to be won but not in a Graham Roberts sort of way. IMO, Hojbjerg has enough of those attributes to be...

    Have you missed football?

It would be the very epitome of 'Spursy' if the game were to disappear up it's own arse almost to the moment when we unveil the best and most lucrative stadium in the World. I too though am utterly sick and tired of the greed endemic in the higher reaches of the game and would dearly love that...

I'd be pretty confident that if Foyth were to go to Barca, in a couple of season's time this place would be full of people asking wtf we were thinking when we let it happen.

He only got a handful of games but got a couple of MOMs in the process. I don't think he's a Mourinho type though (i.e. not a knuckle dragger).

Premier League facing player revolt over plans to restart season in June

We don't know the long term effects that Covid 19 can have either, although it's been suggested that it could cause permanent respiratory damage. If that's the case, it's ridiculous to expect professional athletes to take any chances until we're sure of the details, and we're way, way off that...

    Tom Huddlestone

Modric had eyes in the back of his head and always managed to wriggle out of tough spots. Must have been bloody frustrating to try to mark him or get anything off him.

    Tom Huddlestone

Huddlestone and Modric were completely different passers. Modric was fantastic in tight spaces or under pressure but Huddlestone could rifle a pass 60yds and land it on a sixpence. Chalk and cheese.
