    The Transfer Wishlist Thread

All the talk of ‘a striker that could play with or instead of Kane‘ had me wondering who could really fit the bill. In an ideal world I’d be thinking of Richarlison - though he signed a 5 year contract in December and Everton would be wanting North of £50mil, so I guess we can forget about that...

Interesting. There's definitely potential with Edouard, although it's always worth remembering it is a big step up from SPL to EPL.

Maybe Jose could emulate my success on Fifa Career Mode. While managing Spurs I also took on the Netherlands job and won the Euros playing Bergwijn at RWB!

Yeah, without having the utter units like peak Wanyama and Dembele there's a definite need for a dedicated CDM in there. Lo Celso has the tenacity but not the physical presence. Ndombele could get there in terms of physique if he puts the work in, but his natural game is still going to be more...

The match highlights of our 4-0 win over West Brom (could/should have been 8 or 9) that was shared on the club's SM accounts reminded me that we effectively played at that point a 3-4-2-1 formation: --------------------Lloris ---------Toby -----Dier ----Vertonghen Walker --Wanyama-- Dembele...

    Player Watch - Steven Bergwijn

I think the discussion of Dele's pace could be enhanced by utilising a slightly more nuanced scale - players are not divisible in to two groups of 'slow' or 'fast'. Now, where does he rate on the following scale: Slug ---> Sloth ---> Koala ---> Overweight Bulldog ---> Chihuahua ---> Tabby --->...

Player Watch Player watch: Jan Vertonghen

I felt like a lot of the criticism of Dier amounted to giving up on him too easily. He had a rotten year with illness, plus being in and out of the side is unsettling for anyone. He could still turn it back around and I hope he does. Something similar could be said for Vertonghen. He had an...

Player Watch Player watch: Jan Vertonghen

I’ve always thought Jan would fit perfectly in to mould of Juve‘s traditional set up on the left of a back three. Think he could easily have a good couple of years in Serie A where getting older and a bit slower doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue as it is in the PL. Is Conte playing 3-5-2...

    Player Watch - Steven Bergwijn

We may see a return to a 4231 predominantly with Son, Alli and Bergwijn the three behind Kane, with Moura and Lamela as rotation options.

    Willian

I wouldn’t have thought he’d live in London this long and not learn to speak English to a decent level. In post match interviews he speaks pretty fluently and his comprehension seems very sound.

    Willian

William is a technically sound player. His pace has not exactly deserted him, but he’s not utterly reliant on it either. He’s skilful, picks passes well, has good delivery both from open play and set pieces and has shown he has a habit of performing particularly well in big games. He’d be a...

    Willian

He's predominantly right footed, but good with his left too. Has switched flanks with Forrest on occasion with Scotland, as well as some minutes at RM while Forrest played a RWB role, so it's not totally alien to him.

Interesting that Juve would be put off due to a player's age, hasn't seemed to be something that has overly concerned them in the past. If the finances were right I think he'd be a great fit alongside GLC in the middle.

    New Nike Kits 20-21

Such a different green, though. In other news, I've seen the home shirt for next season 'in the flesh', so to speak, and it looks pretty great in person.

It's a no from me too on Hart. The 'experienced head' bit may be true, but he sadly hasn't seemed 'serviceable' for a few years now. Would far rather promote a youth squad keeper and see how they fair. Investing in a really good DM is definitely something to do, although I wouldn't be opposed...

    The Transfer Wishlist Thread

Well, I did originally say that Willian’s actions ranked very low in a hypothetical list of bad things a sportsperson has done. You then asked for an example of something worse - but to narrow the field to ‘something almost exactly the same but worse’ seems quite aimless to me. This idea of an...
