After going to Wembley to see the Spurs v Pompey FA Cup semi and Newport County lose to York last year in the FA Trophy final I finally enjoyed a day at the famous stadium.

City centre/Clifton area preferably. Reasonably priced beer, big screen and not too full of idiots (my Welsh accent isn't always appreciated in the city!) are my only requirements.

Thinking of going to the Sunderland away game after Xmas and spending a couple of nights up there (cheap flights available from Bristol).

Looks like a train from New Street to Witton would be best as it's closer to the ground but what about after? I've read somewhere that it gets very busy at Witton and that the service isn't that good, so...
