    Totally agree. Personally I would keep Davies as LCB and then promote one of Dorrington/Phillips when his contract expires next summer.

    I think this is most likely the reason. If more starts trigger an add-on payment to Betis we’ve probably told him he can’t start anymore matches this season unless he signs a new contract.

    I doubt he’s not rated by Xavi. He just needs to bide his time. He was clearly bought as a successor to Lewa. I’m sure next season he’ll get more minutes. It would be extremely short sighted for him to move now and for Barce to entertain selling him.

    I think Bentancur will be the furthest forward from midfield. He has the ability to thread balls through but most importantly he’ll have the intensity to press from the front (for 60mins at least)

    Point is, we’re not the kind of club to buy a player for massive money who is likely to only have 3 years left at peak level and then will have little resale value. like it or not, unless the player is 25 or under I doubt we spend big money. Paulinha is 29 in July so it’s not gonna work for us.

    Agree. Has to be a confident issue with him. He’s clearly got tons of ability but very inconsistent. At the very least I think he’s a high squad player. On form he can do a solid job in multiple positions.

    If we can get Gimenez for a decent fee, say under £40m, while still keeping Richarlison, I think it would be a clever move. As others have said, he's still developing, and fits the system so would make sense.
