This, I've never got the dislike for him, he's a top level presser, a consistent performer, with good game awareness, everything we're lacking in midfield
The midfield is so dysfunctional, the amount of combinations he's had to use and the on game reconfigurations just makes everything else shit. It needs a huge overhaul, there's not one of them I wouldn't sell
We haven't a midfield that can control a game consistently since Dembele Wanyama days. Until that gets sorted we're going to keep having these performances
I asked my Celtic season ticket holder colleague (I can feel the eyes rolling as I type lol) about how Ange used Furuhashi. He said he had a real skill at being just offside, pulling the defence back and then returning onside just at the right moment. Virtually all his goals were from inside the...
How do you get that from that statement? I think Sess will be done with us, I feel so sorry for the lad but I don't think there's anything he could between now and the transfer window to get a chance.
I haven't seen anything of him but if you see how Ange used Furuhashi it wasn't dropping into pockets or holding the ball up. He sat on the shoulder of the centre back and forced them as deep as possible to create spaces in behind for all the other attackers to exploit. He wasn't a goal machine...
Did they actually get to see anything from 1/2 mile away, sitting on an upturned crate, through all the bubbles? How do we compete with that match day experience?
I agree and was my biggest concern about yesterday, how can you press and be tenacious one game but switch off in others, that to me is a mental resilience thing. Good players might need to go because they're too inconsistent
Really impressed with him in the last few weeks, it looks like he's really taking on Ange's instructions. He's much more direct than when he started and causing defenders more problems.
I thought today we pressed and were more physical trying to win 1st and 2nd ball, what concerns me though is where has that been the last few weeks? You can't drift in and out of playing like that. It will be interesting to see our distance covered today as I bet it's gone up from recent weeks...
A bit of post defeat hyperbole. We were comfortably the better team in the 1st half, created chances and generally had them in the back foot. 2nd half was going nowhere till Raya's mistake then we were on top again.
All today really showed to me is that he has us on the right tracks but needs...
