There's no way they're doing that. They had to structure the Raya deal as a loan because they were right up against PSR regulations; that's already £30m they're down. Then who's going to buy their players? Anyone they'd want to sell (Ramsdale, Zinchenko, Vieira, Smith-Rowe, Nketiah) they're not...
They're trying to dress it up as "give the players a break" but there's hardly a break if you're expanding the European competitions *and* the Club World Cup. It's such disdain for the sport.
Replays to be scrapped
This sucks. I'm no traditionalist but the FA Cup is all a lot of teams have. Why's the Premier League getting involved from before it even fucking enters? The FA Cup isn't there to inconvenience the big teams (throw it if it's so hard for you), it's there to give a dream...
Mbappe was pretty anonymous against Barca - yes he scored two goals but one was a pen and the other a tap in.
He's an excellent player - I just think he's knackered. In a genuine way, not in a "limp for sympathy" way. He's played far too much football because they have no alternative for him.
In 09/10, our 32nd game was a humbling defeat in the North East that left us in 5th. We knew we'd have to follow that with consecutive games against Arsenal and Chelsea, with an ominous game against Manchester City just before the end of the season. Time is a flat circle.
Wenger was a sincere, intelligent man. Everything about Arteta feels like he's studied it in a book about How To Be A Winner. Unless I'm wrong, he simply wasn't like this as a player. It's so performative.
It's so transparent, and it's such a gross tactic (and it is a tactic, it happens far too often for it to be an accident) because a referee won't ignore a player that's down.
