    Match Threads Fulham vs Spurs

Still a very strong team, we have good depth this year, especially in the midfield. I'd expect our starters (Maddison, Son, Bissouma, Sarr, Udogie) to still get 25-30 minutes unless the game is out of sight.

Barcelona vs Tottenham Hotspur (Joan Gamper Cup) 19.00 Tonight

If the big concern coming out of this is Reguilon and Dier, hardly a lot to be worried about. Reggy is likely to be sold and I highly doubt Dier gets more than a handful of cup games this season and then his contract expires.

Barcelona vs Tottenham Hotspur (Joan Gamper Cup) 19.00 Tonight

Playing great football with a few shambles at the back to remind the leadership we still need to buy a few defenders.... ideal result!

Barcelona vs Tottenham Hotspur (Joan Gamper Cup) 19.00 Tonight

Honestly last season I felt like we actually had a very talented squad (besides at CB) and that what we were witnessing was the worst coaching performance at the club since Ramos or Santini. Feeling pretty vindicated in that view now. I don't know what the hell happened to Conte last year, but...

Barcelona vs Tottenham Hotspur (Joan Gamper Cup) 19.00 Tonight

That's good news, because for me those two and Richarlison are the only performances really worth caring about in this match. Most of the rest of the group are going to be rotation players or gone by September.

Well we'll definitely get a better sense of what we've got in Vicario tonight.

    Match Threads Chelsea Vs Spurs

Wow, glad I didn't read this thread yesterday when I was still buzzing after the game, mostly just people complaining about the performance and I only read the post-game posts. It's just very odd how fickle this forum is and really the performance is only a let down for some because so many in...

What's the point of the u21's

It's not the fault of the u21 league. Premier league teams, top to bottom but also more acutely at the top 6 level, have so much money that they don't really need to bring players through the academy level. If you bring 2-3 through every five year, that's a result. And generally those are top...

    Ex-Manager watch: Antonio Conte

It's interesting comparing us to Liverpool and City, because really at the top end of our team we're in line with them unlike the other chasers like Arsenal, United, Chelsea. Simply, Kane and Son are two of the best 4 players in the league and Conte is at a similar level to Klopp and Pep, and...

    Pre season 22/23

I doubt this is the first time that Conte has put them through something like this and I'm sure Ndombele didn't acquit himself well, which is why he was shipped out in January and left at home for this.

Loan Watch Troy Parrott - Excelsior Rotterdam

Decent little group of u21 players on the fringe of the first team currently in Gil, Sarr, Parrott, Scarlett, and Devine. Not bad at all.

Loan Watch Troy Parrott - Excelsior Rotterdam

Didn't he play on the wing some during his loan, maybe at Millwall? Always good to be versatile if you're trying to scrape a spot in the squad. Still think a Championship loan would be best considering he's still only 20. Feels like he's older because he's been in and around the squad for so...

    Kyle Walker Peters - Southampton

Always been a very smart and cultured player, I remember watching him in u18 youth FA cup at WHL against a stacked Chelsea side with Abraham and Solanke up top, when they were two of the biggest prospects in the country. KWP was probably the best player on the pitch that night. Had hoped he'd...

Player Watch - Sergio Reguilón (Brentford)

Trix with a winner rating on this one. Sounds like Emerson is here to stay. Personally, I'm quite glad. Still really young, only 23. His end product was quite poor for us, but it really wasn't that bad in Spain. In his two seasons at Betis he had 5 goals and 10 assists, which is pretty solid...

    Arsenal

He's talented for sure and scored some great goals, I've never been fully convinced by him tbh. Always find it a bit odd when such a touted player stays at a mid-level club for way longer than you'd expect. Always expect it's because clubs don't rate him as much as fans. Also, think he relies...

    Arsenal

SMS is like Pogba-level defensively, not his skillset or interest. Don't think he'd help them much.

Player Watch Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

He's scored 2 league goals and has 4 league assists since 2019. He's not exactly earned himself a huge fee, especially with Villareal not being in Europe next year. Take the money, clear the salary, move on. Would much rather have the certainty of him being off the books and 15-18m in our...

Player Watch Player Watch: Dejan Kulusevski

Toby. Started all 38 games in his first season and we made UCL for the first time under Pochettino. Went from 53 goals conceded in 14/15 to 35 in 15/16 which was joint first in the league. And we really were comfortably the best defensive side in the league all that season, considering we only...

How close are we to challenging City & Liverpool ?

The truly great Premier League teams of the 21st century have been defined by world-class managers who implemented their playing style and vision of a significant period of time. Ferguson's United, Wenger's Arsenal (pre-Emirates), Mourinho's Chelsea, and now Klopp's Liverpool and Guardiola's...
