I always tell my son you’re lucky to be born in the 21st century. I remind him constantly that if he was born 100 years earlier he likely would’ve had no dad as he would’ve likely been killed in WW1, he would have to work up a chimney or down a mine to put food on the table, no FIFA, no nice...
I completely agree, kids should make up their own minds and shouldn’t be influenced or pressured in any way, which is why I simply told my son you can either support Spurs, or you can live in the shed on 1 meal a week. After a couple of weeks he made the right call in the end.
To be fair he’s playing well below a level he should be. Hopefully he doesn’t lose that lack of fear when he makes the 10 step jump up to the prem league (assuming he doesn’t get loaned out) but I won’t hold it against him if he takes a good while to find his feet.
It’s not over til it’s over but you do get the feeling, at this stage of the season, that it’s a crushing blow for them and very much “its happening again” type of vibe.
Throw in a Kane Hatrick and them going out of the CL then hopefully the pain is just to much and they check out. Here’s hoping.
Yeah I imagine he did say something behind closed doors. Dont get me wrong, I’m glad he didn’t call him out in public but by the way a lot of fans go on about this and that with regards to diving you would’ve thought they’d want a manager to call it out publically to let fans know that’s not...
Yeah he got caught but that wasn’t the point I was making. On another day he might’ve got away with it (actually it was such a bad dive there was little chance of that)
who cares what the fans call out or not, I’d put a lot more weight into management and the authorities myself but as I say...
It’s a part of the game full stop really. Everyone cheats just to varying degrees. One of our own players did one of the worst dives you’ll ever see this season and he wasn’t even trying to win a pen and Ange didn’t even call him out in public so we’re no different to be honest.
I agree with what you’re saying generally but as my old man always used to say, if you get caught cheating make sure you cheat better next time. Saka could’ve easily got a pen there if his cheating technique wasn’t so obvious. He didn’t even leave a leg in he kinda lunged into him at nearly full...
To be honest, I don’t agree with the feeling that he could’ve just sticked it in the back of the net, I think there’s a reason why he went for the pen and that was because, imo, there was that guy covering back on the inside and if he had cut inside he likely would’ve got tackled. Maybe if his...
A mate of mine said if that was Son you’d be screaming for a pen and I said I honestly wouldn’t. I’d be annoyed he didn’t cheat better. Real time it did look stone wall tbf.
I may be clutching here but I’m hoping that if they fail to win it this year then they could slide a bit. They kind of remind me of us under Poch and I’m hoping they suffer a similar slide as we did after that CL final. Not really based on anything other than a feeling/hope but normally managers...
Liked seeing him give that talk in the huddle after the shoot out. Seems to have total respect and buy in from his teammates. He's clearly going to be a manager post playing career and even though I accept I’m very biased, I still think he’s going to be a very good one too.
