If we can solve the problem of keeping the width on the left then I'd be quite happy with Foden starting out there. Our right back will likely be Walker and he's going to sit back to give us a back three and leave Saka sitting high on the right. It just means we end up pinning our hopes on an...
As others have said, Southgate ideally has his fullbacks pushing up past the midfield, however I'm not a fan of using a system that relies on players we don't have. I think outside of Potter and Howe there is some attraction to going for a foreign coach. We have the midfield talent and depth to...
I know he won't, but it's still worth a look at. Gallagher has been great in the press, but quite average on the ball.
Meanwhile Foden is trying to come infield and there is no out ball on the right.
Gordon looking like a great shout for the left though. He's growing in to the game.
Our press has looked good. Our midfield passing has been great at times but what we do in the final third is still speculative. Foden is wasted out on the right. I'd love to see Gallagher hooked on the hour mark (or earlier) and Foden given 30 minutes alongside Bellingham in that midfield.
Seeing links online to Ben Johnson at West Ham, a 24 year old, right back. Apparently he's Ledley's cousin, available on a free this summer and a CAA Base client.
Our defence has been left exposed all year. Personnel and system are an issue, but even when we are set in a block we look easy to get through compared to other sides.
I think Tuchel can get the better of Arteta, but I don't think he has the players to do it. Leverkusen should probably be favourites for their game. Then again, West Ham at their counter attacking best could cause an upset.
