You added about a decade to that, I believe.
Pep's Manchester City side have probably been one of the most complete squads in football history, year after year, so a bit weird to compare with an extreme like that. Klopp's Liverpool would've been a much better comparison, imo.
But even Pep have...
And that's what makes it icky, especially since the "issues" with all these players have been very different.
You gotta understand why some people react?
Why don't you just own that it wasn't the best looking comparison, and clarify that you meant no harm? Because I'm sure you didn't.
You don't bore me, mate. But when you question a player for what he does best, or for just getting a few minutes in a game where little worked without him, it gets a lot harder to take the rest of your points onboard.
If you still think your are fair on him, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
I would love to see PEH and Bentancur close to Deki.
For some reason, Ange seems a bit reluctant to have Bentancur and Deki on at the same time, which is a shame because I feel Deki always have his best games when he can combine quickly with Bentancur.
Deki often slows the attack down, but...
Your takes on Kulusevski are so odd, man.
The other week you accused him of "lumbering around" (the only thing he couldn't be accused of then) and just before this post you complained about the lack of movement among the front three – which became significantly better with Deki.
The agenda...
First time I actually feel a bit worried about him. Last week he wasn't even close to as bad as some people suggested. But today he looked frightened and reluctant going up the pitch.
Contributed well defensively, though.
He seems constantly annoyed since coming back. Seems to focus more on complaining than the actual football sometimes. And that punch was indeed extremely stupid.
Hope he snaps out of it soon. We all know how good he can be.
A bit surprised about the agreement on the penalty. Hate to say it, but I think it was a clear pen.
Sure, Lamptey nudges the ball, but that is from Jesus' touch, and the follow-through from him is unexplainable. Just so clumsy. Jesus would have a clear run at the ball if Lamptey didn't just...
Noticed him switch off a few times when tracking back again, but still think the last two performances have been a massive step in the right direction. Far from ready to give up on him.
I don't agree. We kept the momentum going for quite awhile after Maddison went off, and thanks to Deki we initially even seemed to have more urgency near the penalty area.
Then we lost the momentum, but that happened in waves throughout the entire game.
However, I do agree that Lo Celso...
I don't get it. I thought he was decent when he came on, and yet he is getting pelters in here and in other threads. Sure, his final attempt to put it into the box was ridiculous (awful, awful, awful, and frustrating, as was the failed pass to Son earlier), but he was constantly on the move...
I don't necessarily believe Sarr's position would be good fit for Deki (and Sarr is amazing at what he does), but he is our hardest working player, and his discipline was crucial for us while Porro was finding his feet.
Do you really not understand it? It's how refs deal with it 99 times out of 100. Maybe even more?
So if the ref suddenly doesn't do it (especially in a situation like this, where there probably should have been quite a bit more added), of course it feels like deliberate sabotage.
Romano even...
