So wait he has options of Roma, Juve, PSG, AC Milan, Arsenal and Spurs...... in that case i fancy our chances!

Who knows who is interested, if all the players we were supposedly interested in based on press links you would have to question or transfer committee.

Even then interest can be anything from serious interest or light interest as a back up option in the lower end of interest for a club with preferred choices

I'm actually wondering now whether Rabiot would be just a fall back option for us if we don't get Snidey or a player Poch would like in addition to Snidey if he can offload a couple of mids

Thinking about it Rabiot would be a more suited option to play the way I imagine Poch wants from his two central midfielders than say Paulinho, Dembele, Holtby or Bentalab and given the intensity he may prefer to have like for like alternate options as cover/sub/competition than players that have different strengths and weaknesses

He has to look at Bentaleb and think he can get a real chance here as opposed to the other clubs mentioned.
Good old Tim!

First time I heard of him they talked about him as a no.10 and the next Zidane (d'oh)
Seems he's developed into a more deeper lying midfielder, while I guess you couldn't rule out that he could end up in other positions and roles as well. Bentaleb was also a more attacking midfielder when we signed him

I don't think he's exactly a deep lying playmaker, he does get forward quite a lot, probably easier to describe him as simply a cm and in that he's much like Schneiderlin in terms of balance of completeness, but he also has the ability to beat a player and tends to drive forward with the ball more when he sees opportunity

Do we actually need this bloke? I don't think so. I'd much rather we stick with what we've got and encourage it to develop. Really, we don't need to keep bringing in new players just to keep the fans happy. That's bollocks. It's time we said no, that's enough now.

He's someone to consider. This lad's upper ceiling of potential seems to be a fair bit higher than Schneiderlin's.

I think he would be a great signing, and is exactly the sort of player we should be after. At €12m he's worth a punt for sure - even at his worst we wouldn't lose that much, and the upside is absolutely massive.

He has all the talent required to be a genuinely top class midfielder. Would love us to get him but I'm sure the list would be very long.

12m?? he has only a year left

I don't see why would we need him though.

Spend that money on young forwards like Ocampos and/or Martial now that apparently Monaco's owner has given up

Well the idea that we'll get him for nothing in a year's time is wrong though, because someone else would instead.

As I see it this is our only (very small) opportunity

Is he worth it though?

We have a lot of CMs right now. And I believe that if we were gonna sign one it should an upgrade, someone who would start, like MS. Would this one be a starter?? Honest question as I don't know about him

He would be a great potential signing but...

The rise of Bentaleb means that this would be a bad career move for him. We are too stacked in CM to be able to give decent gametime to two teenagers.
