Club have announced today that AIA sponsorship is now extended till 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur today (Thursday 25 May) announced an agreement with AIA Group Limited (AIA), one of the world's leading providers of insurance services, to extend their Official Partnership until the end of season 2021/2022.

AIA and Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a successful strategic partnership since the start of the 2013/2014 season, originally as the Club’s Cup Shirt Partner before becoming Official Shirt Partner in all competitions the following year. This new agreement will now see AIA recognised as a Global Principal Partner and the AIA brand will appear on the front of the Club's shirt until 2022 - representing almost a decade together as partners.

The announcement comes during the Club’s post-season tour to Hong Kong, home to AIA Group’s Headquarters and a key market for the AIA brand and business.

Levy said: "This new long-term agreement demonstrates the strength of our relationship with AIA and underlines just how much we both value this partnership. The renewed partnership comes at a significant time in the Club's history with a new world-class stadium currently under construction. We shall be proud to wear the AIA name on our shirts when we walk out on to that pitch for the first time. We look forward to continuing to work closely with AIA in the coming years as we look to further support the objectives of both organisations in the Asia-Pacific region."

This is good news on commercial front, especially a 5 year deal. But this is bit of a surprise as well. This means, whoever is the naming rights deal won't be the shirt sponsors as well, unlike Arsenal & ManchesterCity with Emirates & Etihads...

Unless of course, AIA is also our naming rights sponsor...and that is something very unrealistic IMO.

Surprising news. I assumed the club would be looking to get a new stadium and shirt mega-deal sponsorship. Perhaps not then.

Personally don't really care who the sponsor is as long as they are reputable, don't have a weird name that brings more 'banter' and they give Spurs what they want.

The whole having an issue with the 'red' thing makes us sound a bit small time.

In our distant history we did actually have a full red shirt - so anyone uncomfortable with the colour could imagine it was a reference to that lol. Also, for our sponsor's home country, red is considered a lucky colour and any help from the forces of the world would be much appreciated!

We haven't got to worry about those down the road. Let's just crack on building on our own history shall we?

Don't give a toss who it is personally. If it's financially the best deal for the club, it's great news.

Knew about this some weeks ago from AIA contacts here in Sydney as I am doing work with them on a project, but was told to keep shtum about it. They are certainly very excited about the extension. Expect to see a lot more of an Asian focus from Spurs in the future and don't discount further AIA involvement in the new stadium (not naming rights). Having said that they promised a whole lot of Spurs freebies (official merchandise) which I have yet to see! Bastards. :banghead:

Interesting no info on what they paying per year. I'd presume that Levy would expect a higher value deal than previous deals.

Also would indicate that the stadium sponsor is signed and sealed or Levy wouldn't risk announcing this yet.

Good short name. Easy to spell. Saves a lot of my valuable time when discussing online.

Yeah, I've got nothing to add.

It's a challenging market for sponsorships these days, a lot of companies would rather be a tiny sponsor for United or Chelsea than be a shirt sponsor for a smaller club.

It's good we have a strong, and longstanding partner and don't have to shop around with the online bookies and their ilk.

I assume it was part of the contract to change AIA's whole branding so that we can have a navy sponsor on our kits because it looks nice
