Walker, fryers, Norton, rose. Bae too unless we can get someone better. These positions imo have cost us the most points and problems this season.

I'd keep fryers. Very good CB waiting to happen and good cover for LB. Excellent squad option imo.

Only one I'd want us to sell is Rose. All others can perform (if used in their correct positions) capably.

Don't do that to me!! I read the thread title and thought they were all out injured!

(...cue the jokes about us being better without them anyway)

Walker?? He's been one of our best performers this season before his injury. And he's only 23!

Yeah you got to leave walker out of this. Even naughton when he's played in position.

& fryers is more a centre 1/2 & capable cover at FB

So yeah.

Rose out

I know Walkers a blunderbuss but i like his attitude, we could do with a bit more brain but it is the least of our problems, LB and a strong commanding CB, maybe 2? are the order of the day.
If it was me in charge then i would give Fredericks a run in every cup game next season and use the Naughton money on the other defenders we need.

Naughton is a capable backup for walker, but it depends if he wants to be backup which I don't think he does. We do need to upgrade on rose however and would definitely keep Fryers.

Naughton is older than Walker I believe, so he maybe getting to the point that he wants to be the no1 RB at a club. You wouldn't blame him for that. As a back up he is more than capable.

If Naughton was to go, then we might need two LBs (Rose would be better used as a winger IMO or at the very least as cover) and a RB unless Walker-Peters steps up into Naughton's cover role.

I thought when Walker had his run of games earlier in the season he was fine, he probably was to be honest it's just easier slating players than praising them when they're on a good run, it's the Spurs fan way :)

Walker was probably our best player between August & December, he has improved from last season but not quite the level he was at in his first full season with us. He is a good payer but just needs to be coached properly and not over-complicate things for him.

A few weeks ago i'd also have wanted Naughton moved on but he's actually been improving quite substantially recently, despite his occasional cock up that has unfortunately cost us goals. You can't not admire his efforts defending when up against Walker, who is often caught out high up and out of position on the break.

Either way, as others have said, Fryers is a work in progress and murmurs are that he's developing really well, so bit early to move him on, really no need.

To add to that, you'll notice that these guys have one thing in common that should encourage us to keep hold of them and squeeze every bit of talent we can out of them - they're English, homegrown.

Go through the list of young homegrown full backs and, to be fair, it's not that impressive a list. No club in the premier league can confidently lay claim to having a nailed on homegrown superstar defender, established or in the making, that would measure up against the best there is overseas - it's a very shallow pool to pick from and we have three of them.

Rose, whilst also homegrown & English, i can't figure out. He clearly doesn't suit the left back position, i wonder if any managers have ever pushed him up to the wing in a reserve match or something? No idea.

Walker has been one of our better players this season and if he had a brain to match his physical attributes he'd be outstanding. Definitely keep and let's see how he develops under a proper coach.

BAE is better than anybody else we currently have available at LB so unless we get 2 upgrades in we should keep him (especially as I don't think he'd be that upset about sitting on the bench most weeks).

Fryers isn't a LB and it is far too early in his career to judge him. Keep.

Rose and Naughton are not the standard required. Sell.
