Dad thought he was very good when he watched the Newcastle spurs game and he is a right hard fucker to please.

So on that basis I’m all for getting him!
Jesus. That was my first game at the new stadium, every player on the pitch was shite. Even joe Linton scored ffs. Not sure you can gauge a player from that game. It was horrendous. One I will always remember being in the new ground and also the worst I’ve watched us. Live.

Pretty sure he was on about the away game the other day, no mention of the home game anywhere.

Always hard to judge this kind of player. Lots of ability and pace which makes them easy on the eye but hard to know if they can become effective.

Zaha appears to thrive as the main man but I believe he'd struggle at a top club. 2 seasons ago Adama Traore looked like he was all pace and no end product but he has been superb this season.

ASM has only been in the Prem one season playing for a pretty poor side. So for now I am going to sit on the fence, that way i can't be wrong.

All skill, pace and flair, same age as Son when we signed him and has already shown he can cut it in this league, and a real entertainer. If there was any chance we could get him I’d want us to be all over it but I think that ship has sailed.

Think he would be very good in the system that Jose plays, with us sitting back and breaking with pace.

Whether he can step up a level like Traore has done remains to be seen.

Sarr at Watford would also be a good fit.

I see Brooks as more of a Lamela replacement as I think he is good in transition but lacks killer pace on the counter.

Good luck getting assists with Joelinton on the end of your crosses.

The annoying thing is he’s scored only 2 league goals all season and guess which team he got his first goal against...

That‘s right step forward Doctor Tottenham! ??

The way I see it, is that Jose loves organisation at the back and to transition quickly for the counter attack. It seems to be our main way of playing and we are doing pretty well with it, despite very little productive coming from Winks and Sissoko. Son and Ali love balls over the top. Shelvey is the master of transitioning from defence to attack with one pass. I'd take him over Winks or Sissoko any day of the week and think he'd make us terrifying on the counter. It'll never happen as he's not the profile of player we'd be looking at, given his age and attitude problems. But I think he's perfect for our team.

Welcome back Joey.

His defensive output and work rate not upto the match I think

I think that's a fair criticism. Well, not so much the work rate, but the defensive output. However, I don't think he's defensively worse than Winks, so I don't think we'd be worse off in that respect. But, I think we'd be considerably better off going forward. Though I've always rated him, he's not a player I'd have wanted under Poch. But the way Jose sets up, I just think he'd make us so terrifying to play against, as I actually think he's the best around for playing the killer pass, that turns a defensive position into a goal at the other end. He's created the most chances from CM with long balls in the league.

There is no doubt that the counter attack is major part of how we play. We beat Leicester with 30% possession and scored all 3 on the counter. It's a signing we'd never make for various reasons, but when I see us sitting so deep all the time and using the counter attack so much, I couldn't resist mentioning Shelvey, as having him in a good counter attacking team would be a nightmare for modern Prem teams, who all seem to love to press high up the pitch. But, as I said, there's no chance of it happening, I just wanted to mention an unconventional choice that I think would be great for us.

I feel kind of naughty for daring to think like this, but I really rate Shelvey and would love us to sign him. I know he's supposedly a bit of a dick and is one paced, but I've always thought he's kind of a brilliant player. I think he's their best player and would create so much from deep positions for us and would give us a totally different dimension to our play. It would never happen and I know most people think he's average and don't like him as a person, but if we were to sign him, I for one, would be really happy about it.

I've beaten that drum before
