Amazon Documentary, a contributing factor to our woeful season?

No, the failure to strengthen for two transfer windows is finally catching up on us because we didn't freshen things up when we were actually decent. It's that simple, this squad is done.

Exactly this. How long have we relied on Kane!

Does anyone have any knowledge as to why we agreed to do the documentary?

Did we believe our own hype and feel like we would have success, even though we have been on the decline for around two years now? Or was it a money thing or something to do with getting friendly with Amazon for our stadium name?

Seems bizarre that a club which is regularly known for coming up short and with no trophies in the last 12 years would actively take part in something like this.

exposure?

Rival fans will rush to watch this, making this the most streamed football documentary ever. The club will make a tidy sum off of it which will not be used to fund transfers. Instead it will be used to win the accounting award for the most balanced balance sheet of the year and Levy will smile because he finally has a trophy to put in the trophy room. Everyone wins.

“We have to do what was right for the club.” Levy

How the heck did he think not strengthening the squad for 18 months. Selling a midfielder and not replacing him. Leaving Aurier as our only recognised right back. Then hurrying the most toxic manager in the world.

I wonder if it will include any of the details about Poch refusing multiple players and insisting he would rather go a transfer window or three not signing anyone if he couldn't get the exact players he wanted?

I'm sure if it does our fans will employ their selective memories once again though and assure that all the blame falls on Levy and no-one else.

i can see the advantages and reasons why we agreed to do it beyond the fee received. Brand exposure at a time when naming rights up for sale etc etc.

But Daniel Levy would have been aware of the potential negative impacts. He cannot seriously suggest Poch or any manager worth his salt would have been happy about it. When being filmed, you are self conscious, cannot be yourself, have to watch what you say, how you behave, body language etc etc. It all becomes unnatural.

The club made a conscious decision to take a risk on the impact of the team against the additional brand exposure it would give us and how much that may or may not help in naming rights and other sponsorships.

we have sowed, now we shall reap. Well done ENIC

Saw an advert for it pop up on my intsa feed. Safe to say the comments below were painful. I have a feeling more Chelsea/Arsenal etc fans will watch this then Spurs fans. Car crash TV.

Look we can take the piss all we like but its going to be so interesting seeing the behind the scenes with the staff and players and in the dressingroom etc also its been a crazy season with poch sacking, injuries, dier going into the crowd, jose in, ups and downs results so should be entertaining for sure.

It's just typical us for it to go so very wrong so very publicly. Chances are Amazon will pay well for a season 2 :D

Our bad season is the cumulation of 2 years of work in progress, plus the CL final. We can't really point too many fingers at Amazon tbh.

The short video clip from the series just popped up on my FB feed.

I don't wish to spoil it for anyone, but it seems the hero dies in the first episode.

I agree with you that we shouldn't - however...

This season I have seen fingers pointed at:

every single one of our players (except possibly Tanganga and Skipp)
both the managers we've had
the chairman
ENIC
Joe Lewis
some of the fans
referees
VAR
the FA

I think Amazon belong on the list, purely because there's a list.
