I find it severely frustrating, depressing and anger inducing that a large portion of fans seem to put more effort into disliking a player and then hoping they get proved right and being cynical/moaning about every aspect of the Club (of which in all honesty 99% of us don't have sufficient knowledge of to take an objective stance on)- rather than investing that energy into supporting players and the team etc.

It's not about the negative opinions as such, everyone is entitled to them and will have them in regards to certain things from time to time but the pure nonsence spouted and the energy put into being a moaning pillock and wanting to be proved right to the exclusion of accepting any other point of view...jeez...

I completely agree. I'd much rather a player that I don't rate come good than prove me right. I don't understand why anyone who is actually a Spurs fan would think otherwise to be honest, although there are more than a few people on here who seem to enjoy slagging off Levy more than Spurs doing well.

However, none of that means that Lamela is any good ;)

But it does mean that people should acknowledge his positive aspects and not only single him out for criticism in a poor display. (Vice versa as well obviously...) :p

Yep that's fair enough. The entire performance should always be considered.

So...Lamela's positive aspects.....nice hair.

But people go out of their way to find something they can criticise him about. It's also funny how Danny Rose has a whole season as one of our better performers and not all are convinced but as soon as a player has 2 bad performances he should be sold or just released on a free because "he's not good enough for a top 4 team". Yawn.

Based on quality, I would have had Capoue in the team at the beginning of the season due to our squad options, (although would have hoped for an upgrade.)

I think we should change managers every time we don't win a game. Cup games included.

And also a win without playing champagne football is sackable.

Also fans attending the game should be forced to wear a bowler hat, a tutu and go commando. Fans watching from home should wear scarlet red lipstick, be naked except for suspenders two sizes too small and a sock over their old chap and have been waxed totally all over for that smooth touch.

I think we're in for a 2 points/8 games scenario if we lose to Everton.

(I know that's 2 points from 4 games before anyone points that out)

So, if we lose to Everton, we then only have to lose four more games in succession, without picking up a single point along the way of course, to equal that start.

Nothing like being positive eh?

I do know what you mean by the way, but really...

If we lost to Everton, and our subsequent 4 games. Poch will go.

Never going to happen though.

Currently we are in a 2 points from 3 games situation. The same situation that we were in the season that we accrued our record points total.

Just to provide a silver lining, if you wanted one.

Bar Judas C**tbell playing for us again, no Spurs player should ever be singled out for booing or cheers when being subbed off. ..
When a substitution is long overdue, then fans are going to get frustrated.
But I've always thought of it as more directed at the manager - a player cannot sub himself after all,
and in Lamela's case he cannot play any better - he is what he is.
The mystery is why he is on the pitch at all and again that is not his fault.

Everton H
Sunderland A
Crystal Palace H
Man City H
Swansea A

I'd be pretty surprised if we didn't pick up at least a couple of draws from that run.

That said, a couple of draws, a win and two losses would give us 7pts from 24pts (or 7pts from 8 games).

Not great, is it?

That's why games against Stoke (H) and Leciester (A) are actually must-win games; where else are you going to get your points from?

I could find the downside of a massive lottery win, believe me!

I just really connect to it in the same way I did under BMJ/Harry. I had to look up the fixtures just now to see where our points could be coming from in the next 5 games whereas I always used to know them.

Could be old age though...

A bad choice of manager doesn't become a better choice simply because he is succeeding a string of bad managerial firings and hirings.
