Poch is a coward

Can't handle ego or players with personality.

The best managers harness the mavericks and direct this energy onto the pitch and make it count.

Therefore we have a team of soulless automatoms

1) Attempting to play beautiful football all the time as held Tottenham back. As much as we know but not as many of us would like to admit titles, trophies and success are built on defence and that is one thing that Tottenham have never prioritised.

2) Champions League football ruined Tottenham. It changed the fan mentality from that of if we do okay the season will be fine to top four is my everything. As great as the Champions League is many of our fans need to realise that we just aren't capable of achieving Champions League football consistently YET. The stands at White Hart Lane are more aggressive towards the players, more forceful and we have lost our way of always trying to support the team. I blame this on the glitzy nights of Champions League

Unpopular opinion from me is that I really like our squad. Players that you can really get behind. Homegrown, young talents who want to do their best for their club.

We have the prospect of exciting players like Son and N'Jie to come in. Kane will start firing at some point. Eriksen is better than people think and a spell on the sidelines will make people realise this.

I think there is just a feel good factor around the club at the moment. A couple of years ago under AVB a run of 4 games without a win would have seen the press all over his back, comments from players in the press etc whereas now the consensus seems to be that we are a young, improving side and everyone is pullling in the right direction.

I happen to believe we are heading in the right direction and doing the best we can without the bank balances of our rivals.

I like your first point about title winning sides being built from the back. To some extent it's very valid. For English clubs I think it is, anyway. Spanish clubs like Barca aren't the best at defending, but have still had world class players in those positions who know how to work as a unit. Their pressing off the ball has always been immense.

As for the CL point. I don't think it's the fans necessarily. Many people I know aren't hugely fussed about CL football and would actually like to see us win trophies now and again, or just play attractive, competitive football in general. I think the club in general has been a little bit obsessed with it. I reckon Levy and co. have finally realised this after a few years now, and see how much more competitive it now is, which is hopefully why they'll give Poch a little more time.

This seems to be an unpopular opinion based on a lot of what I've read, but I don't think we've played 'boring' or 'turgid' or 'shit' football at all this season, or most of last season for that matter. I enjoy seeing us dominate the ball and working hard to create goal scoring opportunities. I think we've played incredibly well this season without luck and really deserve to be on more points than what we are. Based on what I've seen so far I'm really optimistic about our season and long-term future with this squad.

If Soldado had put in the performance like Kane on Saturday he would have slaughtered.
Kane was rubbish sorry judge the performance not the player.

Was he that bad? He was trying things and none came off but he was still trying. He certainly should have done better with the one on one chance but I can't remember many other time where he was given a clear opportunity (not created by himself) and massively fucked it up.

The shot that chadli blazed over the bar came about because of how tenacious Kane was as do a lot of our chances.

That chance came because he missed a chance.
Worked hard but nothing else.
Lost the ball and was greedy with impossible shots.

Maybe we are looking at things different ways. Even with some of the shots I can't recall others being in better positions and let's not forget that a number of his goals from last season came from similar pot shots.

Anyway I think the most important thing is that Kane needs support. If he finds himself in the number 10 position with the ball at his feet he needs someone to run ahead (N'Jie and Son) and if he makes the runs he needs someone capable of finding him (Eriksen). I look forward to seeing how he performs when the puzzle is complete and he isn't a one man team.

Like I said judge the performance not the player.

This is a squad built to peak in about 3 years.

If any youngsters haven't been sold by then!

We will not sign a striker. And Kane will have a God awful season because of the weight he will have to carry.

Ah unpopular opinions here's a few and no doubt a bunch of disagrees. Not 100% sure these are unpopular just i have been criticised before for saying the below.

1 like Chadli and Eriksen for their talent but they do half go missing some games, a bit luxury, I generally like only one on the pitch at the same time otherwise we seem to lose the midfield battle. Kind of opposite to Dembele who dominates the middle but doesn't score much. For me one luxury player is enough.

2 Want a DM obviously but even if we miss out as long Dier stays fit I think he has all the tools to grow into a top class player in that role, maybe that could be his long term role not CB. Perhaps loosing Capoue and Stambouli wasn't as bad as people thought.

3 Sherwood might not not be everyone's cup of tea but he did ok with us, I didn't mind him but so many people really hated him. I thought he could have grown into a good manager with us, much as I like Poch.

4 there are a few Arse players I quite like such as Ox who I would have loved to play for us. Not all of them are total ****s like Theo and Jack, just most of them.

5 I can sort of stand John Terry these days, don't like him much but since Wilshere has come along it has put it all in perspective.

I think you're right but I think Kane has earnt some leeway from the fans seeing as he did score over 30 goals last season.
