He'll bring that winning mentality to our club.No offence to our players but I don't see anyone who has won as many trophies as he has specially the WORLD CUP.

I really can't see this happening. I absolutely love Pirlo, one of my favourite players of the last couple of decades, but he's not right for how we are playing now really and is past his best.

I very much hope we aren't this type of club anymore.

Why Pirlo? There are a number of articles doing the rounds now on this issue and Calciomercato often has reasonable information. Why do we need a 35 year old even though admitedly he is a brilliant playmaker but how does he fit into AVB's 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3? Is this just paper talk or is there something to this?

All isn't well between Andrea Pirlo and Antonio Conte at Juventus, if the Italian media are right the pair's relationship has been deteriorating this season as Conte tries to manage the minutes which Pirlo plays. It may not just be about getting on the pitch, Pirlo's contract runs out in June and there were surprisingly rumours in Italy a month or so ago that Juventus aren't too keen to offer him a new one.
The Serie A side have an embarrassment of riches in the midfield area and extending the deal of a highly paid 35 year old isn't proving too attractive to them, and any issues between the player and powerful Conte will not change that.
Pirlo didn't react kindly to being substituted against Real Madrid in the Champions League this week and Calciomercato say it's just the latest example of him publicly showing his frustration with Juventus and the situation he finds himself in. He is getting games but feels his importance isn't being taken as seriously as perhaps it should.
The Italian midfielder will have options should he leave Juventus and Calciomercato say he's been made an offer, by Tottenham. They claim that Andre Villas Boas is so keen to have the player that £12m over three seasons has already been offered. If Calciomercato are correct, the proposal has already been made to Pirlo's entourage and Tottenham want him to sign a pre-contract agreement in January.
It sounds a lengthy deal for a 35 year old and whilst a year from Pirlo could be interesting, three years would be something of a risk.

I think you answered yourself. There is room for a world class playmaker in AVB's system, especially the 4-3-3. Plus it would be nice to have a player who is a genuine winner around.

He'd have the same impact naybet and Davids had for us should we sign him imo.

Think, how Carrick and Ledley improved with those two to learn from.

He's an amazing player but I would have doubts that he could adjust to the pace and physicality of the prem after spending his whole career in Serie A. Look at how Veron struggled.

Forget about about it, we spent 100 million on players during the summer, if a playmaker can't emerge from that, then that is bollocks.

Pirlo in the lilywhite will blow my mind. I have no idea how he would fit in or if he could handle the beating he would get from Prem defenders, but...Andrea Pirlo!

it's all different when you have such a player as Pirlo in the team. whole team gets better. I'm sure that whole team would become different - more confident etc etc.

He might be ancient but I couldn't think of a better role model for Carroll.

This.

And his presence would mean the world to Lamela. The only guy to have around that would've been better would be Totti, but seeing as he'll never leave that club Pirlo would be a pipe dream of a backup. Pirlo could be in his forties barely able to manage a sprint and I'd be delighted to see him wearing anything with our badge.

If Giggs and Scholes can play in their mid thirties then so can Pirlo.

Pirlo is like my favourite player ever. I would be so happy if this happened.

If we could do a Holtby style deal in Jan, and secure him for a minimal fee, it could be massive for us. Also think it could be huge in terms of attracting players, I mean who wouldn't want to play with Pirlo!. Not getting my hopes up, as a lot can happen between now and Jan, but I'd love this to happen.

I don't think I can quite wrap my head around it. I try to envision Pirlo in our midfield and it just seems so off. Talk about having options, though. A midfield trio of potentially Pirlo, Paulinho and Sandro sounds like the best of all worlds to me.
