I live in Southampton so I got to go to the game today, originally my dad was going to get them in the Saints end as he knows someone who can get tickets and asked if I wanted to go, I said not unless it's in the away end because I won't want to restrict my emotions! Anyway he managed to get some in the away end and it's been over 10 years since I last saw Spurs which was at the old Wembley in the Worthington Cup final. I have to say, I've never felt more at home at any place other than my actual real home :D
I absolutely loved it, singing with the rest of the crowd, chanting at the home fans, celebrating the goals and you feel a real connection with the players when they celebrate in front of you, even when they cheer the fans when they go off after being substituted, you feel a connection, it was just awesome.

Anyway, it made me really think about trying to go to more away games but would probably only be able to make it up on my own, does anyone else do so? And how easy is it to get tickets, are the majority of them allocated to season ticket holders?

Assuming that you're a member, at least, it's easy enough to get tickets for the less popular games.

I have been on my own to plenty of away games in the past, when other mates haven't been able to make it. Obviously the travel and pre match drinking isn't as fun. But the game itself is just as good.

That's good then! Yea of course, I don't really mind that so much, a lot of the time I prefer my own company anyway and like you practically said when the game begins it's the only thing you want to be focused on anyway.

Yeah, went to several away games by myself when I lived in the UK, including to the Etihad for that game in 09/10. I liked doing it, start chatting to the people next to you, lots of chanting and good times. The game, as jambreck says, is just as good whether you're alone or with friends and if you don't mind doing the travelling on your own then I'd say go for it. Sign up for a membership and you can go to essentially whichever bottom half side you want.

What a game that would be to go to. Yea I do like that though, the socialising aspect of it is quite interesting, like I said I generally prefer my own company but is interesting hearing other Spurs fans views. Now it's just a case of looking at the fixtures and picking the most viable ones I guess!

Only been to one away game and that was a few years ago against Sheff Utd and we lost 2-1 I think Jenas scored for us after about 5 minutes. We were awful on the field that day but we the fans sang for the whole match.

Up until I moved away I would usually go to away games more than home - especially when Boro, Wigan, Bolton et al were in the Prem. Now I'm back in the UK but I'm a student so can't really justify it.

I never really had a problem getting tickets for those games even without membership. On the morning of general sale I used to fax the club with my card details and quantity - these days I believe it's all online.

I might try and get Hull tickets mind, as that's an easy one for me. I used to go on my own or occasionally meet someone from here (Chris12345 and wooderz being two).

I've been to a few on my own. Usually do a couple a season to get away from everything and release the frustration with a good sing.

Wow, you've actually made away games sound superior to home games!

I much prefer away games to home games. It's all very shushhhhhhhhhhhh at WHL and feels more 'tribal' away. Always great when you get near an away ground and you start to spot a few Yids in the crowds of walkers before someone eventually shouts out 'Yid Army!!!' in amongst the home fans.

As a fan experience, they generally are.

For some locals maybe, who are able to go to lots of homes, but not for distance fans.

Fair enough.

If you're rarely able to go to home games, then it's a big deal to go to WHL.

But for regulars, away games are a better fan experience. Much better atmosphere.

I prefer away games as well. I was at that game against man city as well. I've been to five awaws this season including long drives to Cardiff, Man City and Sunderland. Better atmosphere by far. That Sunderland game was some turnout for a 5:30pm kick off
