Are Younger Players More Determined Than Before?

With the progress of our younger players such as Kane, Mason, Bentaleb and the many other younger players who are seemingly on the brink of our first team, are we seeing an upturn in determination from kids nowadays.

You can see that these lads mentioned are showing a lot of heart and desire to become better players, even if they have made the achievement of "breaking through". It doesn't seem to be happening at just our club either, United have Wilson, McNair and Blackett integrated this year too, as well as other younger players at other clubs up an down the country too.

When the likes of Bostock, Parrett and others were loaned out they seemingly didn't impress and I remember that a lot of the younger players around had discipline problems, or expected too much too soon. Now I see talented kids working much harder to improve.

Does anyone else feel that this new generation have a better grasp that knucking down will bear fruit? Or am I getting a little ahead of myself?

For a while there was a pool of talented players who seemed to have the attitude that just because they had been given a professional contract, they felt they had made it.

I have been saying on here for a while that the PL teams will have a lot of players coming through.

Nothing to do with determination but the avenues have got easier and with some clubs the culture is changing HOWEVER this FA committee is the worse thing that could happen as the good of the past may be undone with some of the stupid ideas that are coming out of their mouths

With so many older players being brought in, from the UK and abroad, it's harder for youngsters to break through than it ever used to be so they know they have to work hard to make the grade and prove themselves.

I'm just glad a lot of attention is being given to our academy. It's important to bring through home-grown talent.
