Milik is a very good player - was amazing for Ajax and left early then was slow to settle in Italy and when he’s been healthy, he;s been prolific.

It doesnt appear like we have a specific target or order of preference. It seems like we'll go with whoever is most cost effective out of the 4 or 5 on the list.
Milik was a first choice for Jose until ~June by all reliable reports and ITK

I watch alot of Italian football and this guy is total pony. It would stink out like a jansen and French wingers let's hope it is a smokescreen because he would struggle to get into my Sunday league side ?

If Italian league is argued as having shit quality, then what about his European record ?

Europa League : (Most games for Ajax & Leverkusen)
Played - 19 (14 starts, 5 as sub)
Scored - 7
Assist - 3
Minutes per Goal or assist - 134min per Goal/Assist

Champions League : (Napoli & Ajax)
Played - 22 (11 starts, 11 as sub)
Scored - 9
Assist - 6
Minutes per Goal or assist - 75min per Goal/Assist

Thats a very good record in Europe.

My uncle (who is Italian and a juve fan) says this guy is pretty good, surprised juve didn’t go for him. Good sign as he watches a lot of bloody games.
Well why on earth would anyone believe him over a Spurs Community member who is named after foot lumps?

I always got the impression Milik didn't especially want to come to us and we weren't keen to meet his wage demands.

I wonder if the arrival of a certain Welshman and Reguilon, plus a 5-2 drubbing, may have influenced his opinion a little. We're definitely a more attractive and ambitious looking club than we were a week ago.

That by itself is reason enough to look our way. Honestly, we just need a solid CF option to deputize for Kane and even play with him and Milik looks like he would be a good fit in our team.

I’d be delighted with this. Lovely left foot, great touch, can mix it, good goals record.
Should be much nearer our budget as well with Roma and Juve now out of the running.

This being back up option, as long as its from the list of identified targets (with Jose), Levy will go for the most value signings. Milik being on last year of contract was always going to be on the cards. But he didnt want to join us and didnt have us as first preference. If he now comes around, Levy can do the milking on a value deal with Napoli president.

For me, CB is more important. If it means by going for a value striker , we can save enough money for Ruben Dias then so be it.

Just get one in. The longer it goes on the more likely it is we won’t get one. 50/50 we sign one I reckon. This window is going exactly like January with our striker search. Lots of reports and some saying deals are close but nothing near it at all.

I do hope it is last resort signing.

Sorry to put this thread off track - but I'm genuinely curious, why did you choose to have your username as 'BunionBoy'?

Fuck it, given the window we’ve had so far and Tanguy showing signs of life I would be very happy with this signing as overall we would be far stronger than when we started. If Ruben Dias comes in as well then top 4 is the absolute minimum I would expect from Jose and actually I would have us down as at least the 3rd strongest squad in the league.

Think you'd find a lot of takers if you're offering Even money us signing a striker !

Hope so, he would be a fantastic striker option. He’s the only player we’ve been linked to who can play the CF role in Kane’s model. He holds the ball up well and most importantly is a really smart passer. He would play really well in the pseudo 9/10 role Kane plays, dropping off and creating space and opportunities for our wide players.

Plus when we need a second option, he’d play really effectively with Kane because they both have good movement and offensive intelligence. It’d be an actual parternship rather than Llorente and Kane, who just looked like they got in each other’s way.

Also, for anyone annoyed at him shopping himself around this summer, what would you do in this situation? He wanted to go to Juve over us, where he would have played loads of games at a bigger club than us in the CL and he’d get to stay in Italy. Then Roma were after him and he again would have been their starter and they’re in the CL and Italy too. Now those aren’t there (potentially), we are his best option. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to play for us, he just had better situations in front of him. Makes perfect sense to me, and he’ll give us his all if he comes here I’m sure, he’s a professional.
