As I explained above, if they're restructuring a department, they have no reason to keep the staff.

And as I explained, how can you “not understand the fuss” at 55 people (not just scouts) losing their job while the club throws millions at more mediocre footballers.

I hope you don’t work in PR.

Well ok, maybe "don't understand the fuss" was a bad choice of words. But this is business, If staff are no longer required because of restructuring, you're not going to keep them on sitting about twiddling their thumbs.

What is this 'restructuring' you keep talking of? Forget the scouts, 'normal' people with 'normal' jobs are being laid off by a club that should be a pillar of the community. All while they continue to throw obscene money at new signings.

Genuinely, if you can't see the problem with that, you might want to reflect a bit on why that is.

They are moving to a more agent based model, laying off a load of scouts that are no longer needed.

The majority of reduncies are in commercial and administration.

Hey, but as long as it's under the guise of 'restructuring' it must be ok, right?

They're close to Gabriel Magalhaes apparently. They'll have 2 top CBs in Saliba and Gabriel, albeit lacking in experience.

As I've said before, Saliba might be good, but can you name another 20yo CB coming from overseas who has been brilliant immediately and stayed good?

Also, they like Chelsea will have to get rid of players, where are Mustafi/Sok/Holding/Chambers going if Luiz and Mari are staying?

Didn't they give Mustafi a new contract?

I get that them sacking loads of staff is something that other clubs may have to do as well but when we furloughed some of our staff every sports writer that could hold a pen gave it to our club saying almost we were the devils offspring .
With this Arsenal thing all I have read is that it could not be avoided .
Gets on my tits really but just confirms what all we spurs fans already know about the media .

Bit confused by Saliba. Didn't he only play 12 games last season for a team that almost got relegated from Ligue 1? Know he's young, but is he really going to help to solve their defensive problems?

He's actually only played 31 league games in his professional career to date.

Not unsurprising for a young prospect, but not exactly someone to rely on to command a failing defence.

Strange...I thought their fans rated him.

If you believe what you read Arteta wanted to keep him, the Board decided he was one of those that could go to fund their transfer plans. Mind you they might change their minds if we do actually make a bid for him.
