Consistently said that I don't expect AVB to stick around very long and he will jump ship at some point, but I don't expect it to be this summer.

If it did happen though, there aren't many candidates available to replace him. First instinct, and it would have no chance, would be to get on the phone begging to Mr Heynckes and ask him to name his price. As for the Premier League, well I wouldn't want Laudrup. If we were searching here then Paul Lambert would be my first choice.

Right. We're not going to get any international managers since the world cup's just around the corner, so that rules out Loew, Capello etc. And we're not going to be taking the likes of Hiddink.

List of names for you to chew over:

Michael Laudrup - Nice guy and clearly a talented manager but he's spent a year at his last three jobs. Plus if Levy though Harry was difficult to work with, wait until he gets a load of this guy's agent. Probably still #1 choice though.

Roberto Mancini - good manager but probably would have to spend a bomb to get him out of his contract.

Paul Lambert - far too inexperienced. No thanks.

Jurgen - fan favourite but only managed one club.

Christ that's a pitiful pool.

I very much doubt Levy will let him go so easy, and I'm not sure if AVB will want to leave so soon. He's been fully appreciated by our fans, the players and the club (more than you can say for that classless club that previously employed him), and he seems to have repaired his reputation with us. Levy will no doubt call on him to return the faith that we've shown in him, and AVB seems the loyal type.

He also seems the ambitious type and we all know he loves his 'projects'. I think he'd at least see this project through as far as he can take it before moving on.

Also, if this interest in AVB from PSG is that serious then perhaps it could actually be a good thing for us. Levy may persuade AVB by offering a bit more cash to help build the team he wants to.

What contract? Sacked from City?!o_O

Commonly most clubs have a clause in their contract which means they can't be hired by a league rival for so many months/years after being sacked or have to forego compensation. AVB had it, Adkins had it, Ancelotti had it.

Think we could tempt De Boer from Ajax?

Fall back option of Laurent Blanc.

I'm not even that impressed with AVB. It was mostly Bale saving him time after time, there were tons of games where it didn't look like we had a clue. That said I would love to keep him and have him grow as a manager in our ranks, but if he goes, he goes.

Ah, yes, hadn't thought of that, cheers.

I don't think i'd really want Bobby M anyway - underperformed with that City squad, made bizarre tactical decisions and seemed to alienate the whole dressing room...

Since when has Macini been a good manager, the bloke is a plank, would not want him anywhere near our club...

I appreciate that the modern day, elite manager culture is heading towards are more nomadic path but I think Andre appreciates the fact (as he has stated previously) that not staying at a club no longer than a year can be detrimental to ones career.

I'm not deluded, we're not going to keep him forever but I honestly cant see AVB wanting a move at this time unless he gets proper shafted but all the signs seem to point towards him being supported. Fuck me, DL backed him in the first place by appointing him.

Isn't Mancini's purpose in life to see how many DM's he can fit into a starting 11? No thanks, let's stick with AVB.

Whilst I don't want AVB to go, there is one person that'll be available that who'd certainly be an interesting prospect - Bielsa. It'd either be amazing or end in tears.

First season we'd battle for the title and look unstoppable.

Then the season after he'd shoot Dempsey, annex Wales and we'd finish 21st.

Would be pretty ruthless of Andre.

Yeah. I mean, Levy may not have absolutely backed him completely last summer, but AVB had to realize that he had to rehab his reputation. Levy giving him the manager job was a show of faith in itself, one actually bigger than a backing in the Summer window.

The best we could hope for is that now Levy will back him in the transfer market. It appears Levy will be appointing Baldini and with that should bring an even better comfort level with AVB at Tottenham.

He's spoken of this 'project' he wants to build here and for him to leave us with our dick in our hands one year into it, that'd be pretty low.

There will always be offers for him in the future. He's young and he has many years of coaching ahead of him should he choose to do so. In a few years time, he might have his choosing of where he'd like to go.

I hope he's found a home here at Tottenham. From everything we've seen, he appears to be happy here. I'm guessing this might just be a little ploy to get Levy to open up a bit and show some faith in AVB.

And we all thought he wouldn't be able to follow up that fantastic first season!

NB: Don't really wish Dempsey dead.

Most of the time.

As much as I like him, if he leaves I hope it doesn't happen for him at PSG and he has to beg at another club's door.

After one summer, how could anybody with half a brain make the same mistake?

I have faith he will stay.
