I thought he felt like he had to dive in because Glen Johnson had gone walkies and there was no-one covering at right back. If he hadn't then they would have had a run in on goal on the left wing anyway. Watch it again, I'm right. In conclusion, Glen Johnson's fault, Daws is a hero.

First 45 minutes in an England shirt ffs. He made one error and got back fantastically to clear it off the line. But because of an even bigger blunder by a fucking linesman Dawsons 45minutes will be remembered for that incident. John Terry made bigger errors in the world cup as did one or two other big name players. He deserved his chance on the back of last seasons performances and probably should have played in the world cup over Carragher and Upson. He was massive for us last season and we will need him to perform equally, if not better this time around as i don't hold much hope for King playing all that often.

Just need someone to put an arm around his shoulder and point out - JT has done this many times for England before and its ok for him, he'll actually be playing with a proper RB on Saturday and it wasn't a goal anyway and hopefully Daws should be fine...

A bad error of judgement at best, it will only be seen as a "terrible mistake" due to the linesman's terrible mistake. Had play continued as it should have, no one would ever talk about it.
