He's right. Recognition will come in time. But for now it's a good sign that the media aren't focusing on him. As opposed to, say, Onana. Who's actually a good keeper but that club and team is a fucking mess.

Same with van de Ven IMO. Maddison, Vicario, Bissouma, Romero and Udogie would all be contenders for team of the season so far. Porro, Sarr and Son also contenders. It's so fun watching us again. Almost makes me cry

I keep hearing that.

I've always thought of Onana as a bit erratic. His last season was good for inter, but it belies his other seasons, imo.

To be fair, we have conceded goals 7 goals in 6 games, Chelsea have conceded less. Not saying he's at fault, but stats are what get noticed.

i am worried.

Our trajectory since Ange come in has been so steep regarding our performances that our players are looking world class in a team that last season finished just above midtable. Its almost like the prestige and perception of the club needs to catch up with the quality the players are showing. I look at Udogie, Vicario, Bissouma, VdV, Romero and I see players that could compete for places at Real Madrid, Barcalona, PSG and would be highly desirable as well. I feel like Spurs needs to achieve something really good to put the status of the club back up at the elite so staying at Spurs is still a very attractive option.

I know its not a popular opinion but this is how good our players are.

The same was true back when we had prime Lloris, Jan, Toby, Walker, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Son & Kane...before we had a world-leading stadium and when our wage budget was less competitive.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.

The players have made a good start to the season. But it’s way too early to start talking about them moving to clubs like Madrid. They have to do a lot more to look “world class” than a handful of good performances.

Enjoy the season without worrying about something that probably won’t ever happen.

I think our ascent and development was more gradual in those days.

Surely that was more reason for those players to push for a move. Gradual progress doesn't inspire start players to commit long-term (but most of them did anyway).

This season, our performances, results and (perhaps most importantly) morale have improved almost overnight. Recruitment has been very positive. There are plenty of reasons for everyone in the squad to feel positive about the team's short/medium-term prospects.
