I find his fall from grace baffling.

If someone had told me 2 years ago he would be available on a free and have no suitors I wouldn't have believed you.

Totally agree. Can anybody shed any light? Did something happen behind the scenes?

Bad 'couldn't give a damn' attitude maybe, not the player he was 3 years ago sadly. !!!

Didn't he insist that he didn't have an ankle injury when he did and keep training on it? Probably didn't do much good.

There were rumours that it had to do with his support for the French quenelle comedian, possibly even inviting him to tour the Lane. If they're one thing Levy won't put up with, it's a player jeopardizing sponsors and commercial money coming in like that - plus he may have been personally offended as well.

Benny hasn't done himself any favors on the field. He was pretty much mediocre for QPR last season in the Championship. He's apparently got some professionalism issues. And, the headbutt on his teammate during the World Cup is going to turn off just about all teams from signing him for anything of note.

Wonder if we'll release him today if there are no club in for him.
Guess it's option of either keep him and hope we get to loan him out,
or agree a termination of his contract by paying part of it out.
If BAE want to sign for another club as a free transfer, he'll have to be released by his Spurs contract before the deadline tonight

My suggestion for you two would be this........ Rather than trying to make sense of what has happened with BAE, why not think about the fact that he's been available for ANY club to make a move for him for quite some time yet, even QPR, a club he was actually playing for last season, yet he still remains at THFC and is being allowed to leave for fuck all.

I'd suggest that should tell you all you need to know. There is a reason nobody has been in for him and, in my opinion, it's because he's simply not good enough anymore.

Fair enough he might not be good enough for us anymore but not good enough for anyone at all? Is he never going to play professional football again?

In any case, I was only really interested in his fall from grace for us...

That's my point, mate. Nobody appears to want him, there's a reason for that.

Despite being a supporter of BAE, I feel this has definitely got something to do with his ability/current form rather than any off the field issue.

Even players that are earmarked as "trouble" get some type of interest in them.
