Trying to figure out if we have any players who would be affected by Brexit. Njie seems to be one who might have to go unless we can get him a visa in 2 years time?

All the others seem to meet the non EU players qual conditions, so should be ok..

Vorm and Wimmer are the ones that would currently be affected, but that could change (with the latter).

I don't know why you mentioned the Cameroonian N'Jie though...

Didn't Yedlin only get in on an eu passport thanks to a grandparent or something because he couldn't get a proper visa? I know he's not a first teamer, but still one we will have to shift on.

I think he'll be going this summer anyway.

The agent of Christian Eriksen has spoken publicly that his client is unhappy at Tottenham Hotspur.

"Eriksen isn't receiving the respect that he deserves. He could play for any of the top clubs in Europe."

The Danish midfield playmaker has stalled over signing a new deal and his agent today appeared to apportion the blame on "BrExit".

“We are underestimating the danger,” agent Martin Schoots told La Repubblica.

“The truth is that half the Premier League players will see their work permits turned into scrap paper. In a situation like this, I’d take my client away from Tottenham.”

Roma and Juventus are among the Serie A sides known to be interested in the Danish international midfielder.

Sounds like a new contract bargaining trick to me...

The Premier League is one of the UK's most successful exports, and having exciting players from all over Europe/the world is a big part of its attraction in other territories.

IMO the UK government is not going to do anything to stifle that value and will go out of its way to ensure our elite clubs can buy all the European players they want.

Scudamore will make it perfectly clear to them what the EPL needs in order to keep the cash flowing in.

Yeah because the uk government has a history of making great decisions like promising an unnecessary and disastrous referendum...

Bentaleb too (plays for Algeria but has a French passport). If he stays injury free though he should make the 75% int games required to gain a work permit.

It's a ridiculous discussion to be fair. They're not going to make it so all european players have to play 75% of internationals.

It' simples. Presently, there is a framework in place for taking in talented sportsmen and women. That framework is the only certain thing as of now. People can talk all they want about how "the government will do this" and the "government will do that". That's pure bullshit. It sounds to me like some are expecting that leaving the EU meant that the government will simply implement all kinds of weird and detailed laws to make sure nothing changes. Guess what, everything will change. That's what 17 millions voted for. Accept it, don't hide behind a misconception that "the government" will invent rules.

For the present squad, it means little. For the future of PL, it means that young talent will only be British, non-international squad players will only be British, and European imports will only be players who are already well established for their national teams.

I disagree as you would just need to prove there is a skills shortage in our country to employ people from overseas. The 75% rule must be an FA rule and not in law.

Either way this is the least of our worries when it comes to this issue.

Does no-one realise that leaving the EU doesn't automatically mean that people can't come and work/play football anymore? The government we have chosen (stupidly, I might add) will now decide who is allowed to come, rather than the euwwwwww.

We will choose to still allow immigration.

I hope.

Else we are truly fucked.

I don't think so. The premier league would not want that and they have a lot of clout. They would lobby the government hard to be given an exception to the rules. There's one thing a hard-right government responds to and that's cash, so I could see shady deals being made to protect the premier league.

The majority of those in parliament don't want to leave the EU because they know it is an act of economic self immolation and a stupid idea, yet here we are...
