Sad news. Thoughts are with Serge and his family at this awful time . Serge probably won’t be in a good frame of mind to finish the season, so it asks the question who will fill in at right back.

Terrible. Poor bloke. Brings back those horrible memories of Palcios and his poor brother getting kidnapped and murdered.

Why did they put that story in this article about him allegedly terrorising a prostitute? What purpose does that serve? Is it ok he’s dead now or something? Is that the message?

Very well said. Disgusting gratuitous reporting. Guess we can't expect much better from the Daily Star.

RIP

That's a really good point. I read this earlier and immediately had less sympathy as he didn't sound like a particularly nice person.

I read it again and it sounds like he was never charged or convicted so I'm assuming he was actually innocent.

So instead of focusing on a really sad event, the reader is deliberately misled about the victim.

Typical scummy tabloid thing to do but nothing new there.

Yeah, they said the word allegedly when talking about it so he couldn’t have been charged or convicted or nothing.

TBH, even if he was guilty it just doesn’t seem necessary to comment on it Imo.

So sad, another needless loss of life. I'm sure Aurier will be given a leave of absence to return home. Lets win these remaining games for him. He's had his share of critics but he seems very popular with the players, and you have to feel for the guy at this time. I'm sure the club will support him the best they can.

@LeParisien instead of neg rating things, why not have a discussion? Unless I've missed some link between his alleged previous activities and his death, then it's irrelevant and there's only one real reason that sort of detail is included.

You’re right - it’s stupid when people do that. But I’m already a pariah in one thread about this so I didn’t feel like giving a long explanation here.

The point (badly done because of the source) was to show that this is someone who has involved himself with criminal or immoral behaviour that increased his exposure to dangerous people. He’s not Damilola Taylor. He made bad decisions as an adult which had nothing to do with his race.
