Lots of people thinking this is just a negotiating tactic, and it may well be, or may well be complete tosh of course. However, many were fantasising about Eriksen and Lo Celso being in the same team/squad ... well if Eriksen is truly off, along with Lamela too potentially, then signing a player like this in addition to Lo Celso or similar wouldn't be a bad move at all or that unrealistic.

Ndombele, Lo Celso AND Fernandes for a total of around 150m+ - I can't see it.

More like around 200M, plus the Sessegnons, a RB and CB to replace Toby, no way can we afford that

I don’t expect it, but it’s actually not beyond the realm of possibility. Throw on another 30 for the sess’s and then 80M that for an RB and CB to take you to 310M gross.

If we sell Eriksen, Toby, Lamela, both RBs and Vic/vin/CCV/Onomah/GNK plus Dembele’s proceeds and that’s 190M of sales.

So 120M net. That’s a big outlay, but I think definitely in the realm of the possible considering budget carried forward from previous windows, go-forward budget in the new paradigm, and UCL windfall.

Probably not how I’d choose to allocate it, but not beyond realm of possible.

If we're talking 200m+ then Zaha, AWB, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Sessgnon would be better.

Zaha/AWB 100M
Lo Celso 65M
Ndombele 60M
Sessegnon 25M

250m spent

Eriksen 80M United would stump up this amount)
Trippier 40M
Lamela 20M
Wanyama 10M
Nkoudou 5M

Income 155M approx

100m nett..not bad.

No way is someone paying 40m for trippier. Also a 100m net spend just ain't gonna happen.

No way palace are selling zaha and awb in 1 window let alone for a combined cost of 100m!

So what's the feeling here? Lo Celso seemed to be moving forward in the rumours, now these links - are we to presume that one is probably right and the other is a bit of an agent ploy or similar?

Seems very unlikely we'd be in for 2 such players unless we're anticipating more offloads (Eriksen for Lo Celso, Fernandes for Lamela?)

That’s one fucksplosive superpower.

With those simple words and numbers I just simultaneously pissed, shitted, belched and dribbled all over the feral cat that nestles in my lederhosen every Friday

Applying a bit of pressure on Betis and Lyon would be my guess.

Never hurts to create some leverage, however, i'd appreciate less sodding about this summer and actually spending a little more if it's a player we absolutely want.

At the very least we appear to be making moves, at long last!

The ITK all seem very optimistic that the bald leopard has changed it's spots, so fingers crossed. What we don't have any control over is the selling club and player agents sodding about which is why I hope we are talking time frames with them to get stuff done.
