Barnes literally just said they targeted Foyth.

Foyth couldn’t deal with it.

Sanchez would have been so much more suited to this game.

Poch really got that wrong.

Flip the coin. If you heard those words from Barnes' mouth, Foyth will also be aware of them.

I didn't see the game (I was at work) but he's a young lad & being targeted, being roughed up, being made aware of it. It'll all help in his development & he'll be a better player because of it.

Let Burnley target him again next season & see if they have the same results against him. I bet they won't/wouldn't.

Defending set pieces.

We can talk about the game as much as we want but our season has been wrecked by an inability to defend free kicks and corners in multiple games.

OK A few things, Dissatisfied, Disappointed and Disgusted, this is why you go in the Transfer Window and add depth, and stay in as many Competitions as you can so guy's are always on edge ready for the next game , been ages since we played and it showed.

At least they've won things and played at the highest level, what's her level compared to the game she's talking about. You could have non league players in her role with the same experience but she's there for being female, tokenism

She's played at the very fucking top of the level she was entitled to compete at, and won almost fucking everything. Your posts are pathetic, and most of the men you'd prefer to be listening to, spewing their drivel, could only dream of having a percentage of the success she achieved throughout her extremely decorated career.

Because Trips is the alternative. One is dogshit and the other hot garbage! Take your pick...
Personally I think the issue is our full backs are not asked to defend properly they always trying to play out from the back when sometimes you just need to be direct. Poch needs to get more pragmatic if he is ever going to win anything. Even Pep has evolved in that respect. Also the amount of good possession we waste through wrong decisions and greedy play is just not good enough. We play like we have 180 mins to win a game not 90 mins.

While I don't disagree with you, the idea that 'maybe next year we'll do better' is beginning to wear a little thin. We should be more focused on the here and now; that's a true winners mentality. It always seems to be about next year this and next year that, to me it's starting to get tiring. That's the source of the frustration many are feeling imo.

So I went for a 2 hour walk post game and returned tired and sore of foot and still massively fucked off with the result.

What have you guys been up to? Hopefully no one's started slagging off female pundits for no good reason. That would suck. Go for a walk instead :cautious:

You're being optimistic. There's more melting in here than a block of cheddar in a blast furnace, old chum.

Then next year will be the same so maybe the year after?

On reflection does anyone else think Dier sitting in front of the centre backs would have been bloody useful, a certain defensive quality protecting the CB's and a handy man to have in a fight which is what we had today.
A shame he wasn't available.

It's been said countless times by myself & many others on here. People slag the fuck out of Dier but, when he's missing, it's absolutely noticeable that we lack what he provides.

My wife's a Wales supporter. I'm Australian so my Rugby allegiance, while nominally with England, can suffer this blow. But her sport-related happiness is grating against my sport-related grumpiness.

Might go and slag off a female Rugby pundit for no good reason. That'll help things :cautious:

You're talking about the collective, my response was directly in response to a post about Foyth.

He's a boy, very much still learning his trade, in a position that's not his natural position (played further up the pitch as a youngster) but in the hardest league in the world.

Even CB's who have played there throughout their entire footballing history don't hit their full capabilities until around 28+ years of age. Heck even Vertonghen is still improving, and he's a few weeks away from being 32.

Foyth is literally a few weeks into being 21.

So, going back to my initial post. Yes, I think he'll be better next season, and much of that will be down to what he's learnt from his shortcomings this season.

You go for it lad. You could even go as far as telling your wife that you remember when the pundit was a hooker, telling her she was shit at that also.

Reckon that'll help re-focus yer missus.(y)

Weird, isn't it?

Only a couple of seasons ago when we were breaking records for consecutive clean sheets, having one of the best (the best?) defensive record in the whole league. We had the same players to select from, so what the heck has happened?
