Our urgency and speed of play was always going to take time to get going. I'm sure we'll ramp it up second half.

The low block of Burnley and their full backs doubling up always makes it incredibly tough. We just need to turn the heat up and look for a way through more aggressively. Could be a scrappy goal.

Always have been remarkably slow starters, for some reason - we'll get 3 or 4 this half.

Again, feels like a game in which the first half is just wasted doing nothing.

Regardless of the results, the football doesn't tend to be great with 3 at the back.

I'd bring on Lamela for Sissoko early in the 2nd half. We're dominating possession but need a bit more technique and composure in the final third. Sissoko has no space to burst into and, while he's put in a few decent crosses, has been largely ineffective

Alderweireld is really getting on my nerves. The length of time he takes to decide what to do only to pass the ball sideways or back to lloris, and repeating it again and again is really frustrating!
Do you not think it’s domething to do with lack of movement up front or Burnley defenders shutting down options?

burnley arnt pressing so hard now. getting tired. i expect more gaps to open up the longer the game goes. son or kane will get on one of those over the top balls eventually.

He got better as the half went on, but Sissoko started the match as though he had slegdehammers for feet. He kept losing the ball in the middle third and it kept putting Aurier, WInks and Foyth under enormous pressure. Good thing he improved because that was old, bad Sissoko for a period there.

Same could be said for the whole team really. Probably the rustiness of the 10 day break.

Theres a nervous little triangle of players down the right in Aurier, Sissoko and Foyth. Not a lot of fluidity coming from that side. If things don't improve I would like to see Aurier off in the second half for Lucas or Lamela, with Foyth playing a deeper RB role.

We should take a CB off and put in Lucas or Lamela, have another player making runs to try and split their back line up a bit as far too static just now.

Tbf I wouldn't blame Sky if they decide to spend half time talking about Liverpool/United, there wasn't much of note that half.

I think they'll tire but in truth they've just stayed tight and compact.

We need to move the ball faster and inject more movement.

It's the old saying... Don't wait for something to happen, make it happen.

Yep. I don't think it's a case of them tiring and then the gates will open, I'm sure they tired at Wembley too but the fact was that they had everyone behind the ball and were organised and of course were incredibly close to keeping us out.

I’m expecting a better second half from us when the Burnley players start to tire. Our superior fitness levels would be an asset.
