I can't believe he didn't think about starting Troy up front for this game, I mean Dele? Really? As for the back five, I genuinely thought he would flood the central mid with at least six while dropping Dele to make a point.

No idea why we're bothering anymore. Seriously, Dare is to Dud ...

Absolute jokers on here saying we’re playing with five defenders when it’s obvious after seeing his attacking ability after the Norwich game Jose is starting Dier up front

We will start him off at cb, where lloris can get the ball to him and a 'fan' (planted by the club) will start abusing him from behind their goals. Dier will then get the ball up the pitch quicker than bolt!

But they don't play the same role.
Since Winks and Gio featured as a pair, I've not been convinced that Jose insists on one 'defensive' CM so implacably that any of our CMs is precluded from playing with any of the other ones.

It's sad that when the thread is started, I automatically vote a loss even before seeing the line up

I really hope we win today, we could do with the confidence even more so than the 3 points

I think we will win but I wont be surprised nor shocked if we lose.

Not totally sure how we are looking to score goals with the line up.
Mate, no one expects us to beat Burnley today. Jose is just playing up to the current zeitgeist that fans and pundits alike are feeling.

Gedson has been playing on the wing mostly. Surprised though considering Skipp ploughed through 120. Assuming he will be one of the first to come off.
Yeah, he has - if you put 'at CM' into my post it would have been more accurate I suppose, but thought it could be assumed. I doubt Gedson sees his path into the team exclusively via the right side though, or that many would have assumed Skipp would plav CM ahead of him when the transfer went through.

Can't work out if this means we have chosen the prem or Leipzig as priority.
Neither, he is hoping to create that end of feeling season we've been craving for a number of years. You remember the good old days.

Soak up the long balls into the box, then long ball them back and hit them on the break with one player taking on six, it's football made for Saturday evening!

What happened the last time we played 5 centre backs?

We got overrun in midfield
Front line was cut off
The full/wing backs didn’t cross the halfway line

Chelsea all over again

Handing a lad who's barely 18 his first PL start away at such a physical side like Burnley? No chance

Very strange line-up, but I guess it’ll play out like:

4-2-3-1
lloris
Tang Toby Sanchez Vert
Dier Skip
Lamela Ndombele Bergwijn
Dele

As long as we definitely win.

He showed more fight and pressing and holding up in 30 minutes than Dele did in the whole 90 against Norwich. Plus ndombele against Burnley away? Call me old fashioned ...
