Edit: Btw, yes, this is the Sun (who in the past have been bizarrely accurate for us), but the author of the article, Alan Nixon, is very reliable.

Tottenham lead transfer race for £10million England striker Callum Wilson – if Bournemouth are relegated

TOTTENHAM are heading the hunt for England striker Callum Wilson - if Bournemouth are relegated today.

Supremo Daniel Levy is ready to make a quick offer for Wilson, who could leave the Cherries for as little as £10million.

Wilson has suffered this season as Eddie Howe’s men nosedive towards the drop but his reputation is still high and he would be ideal cover for Harry Kane.

Bournemouth have resisted all moves for Wilson in the past and usually slap him on long term deals with pay rises to keep him happy.

Ironically that strategy is now working against them as they will try hard to get his salary off their books.

Interesting. He has been a ghost of his International call up showings this season. His lack of running, enthusiasm, effort and performances is the major factor in Bournemouth’s drop off this season.
live inBournemouth and talking to season ticket holdersat a bbq this afternoon, they were saying the best he could hope for was a Newcastle coming in. 4/10 for a long time. He’s not Mr popular down here right now.
Sam Sturridge came on for the last few minutes vs Ston and did more in injury time than Wilson did in 90.
£10m sounds cheep, but on he is a 5 goal a season showing at best right now.
Maybe we need a bench striker but I’d hope there was £10m towards a decent RB first.

If he can repeat 18/19 season, good idea

His wages might be a sticking block. £110,000 a week supposedly. I’d assume Levy wouldn’t wanna give him above 70.

£10m? They reportedly wanted £75m in the summer.

If available I would rather go for Origi, like him or hate him he’s a good age, gets some vitals goals and can play across the front 3.

Interesting.

However look at Ryan Fraser. Both players probably felt they were getting big moves last year and you only have to see how most of the Bouremouth squad have performed this year to know that levels have massively dropped. Can be quite tough to keep going at the same club, under the same coach, under the same methods.

Just like we saw under Poch, I imagine some have just been there too long.

Saw some comments on YT from Bournemouth fans last year and they were saying he was a legend etc etc. They were also saying he's very good at 1on1s.

In this current market it would make sense to bring someone in who is PL experienced and could have a run of form, whilst giving Kane a rest/alternate with.

Send Parrott the other way on loan. Let Callun backup Kane. Save both their legs. Should slot in well to Jose's side. Age, salary, and injury history all aren't great but I think he can do a real good job for us while we give Parrott time to see if he can take the next step. Would probably eat up a lot of the lower league cup and (if we qualify) Europa League minutes with still high quality performances. I like it.

This would be such a smart move. Ideal cover for Kane. He'll have a point to prove at the top level when he gets his game time as well.

We definitely need a back up striker to cover Kane that is true. Maybe Fraser’s season sulk has impacted Wilson but Callum has been well short of his previous efforts and has definitely lost most of that good will. I don’t think this is on Howe or the situation Bournemouth have found themselves in. This doesn’t fit with their style of play.
of course Wilson not performing has directly contributed to Bournemouth’s position tho.
As I say maybe a good option as a back up striker. Another English Player would be good positive here but Wilson is only a 5-10 goal a season player atm. Def not 2018 version

I don’t see why Origi would leave Liverpool as a back-up to become our back-up.

Would he be happy with significantly reduced minutes compared to what he gets at Bournemouth or could get elsewhere though?
