That reporter was really good for us last summer.
I'm pretty sure he showed promise early on but then turned out to be pretty shite - 2019 THFCSPURS19 said this so we'll see:

Edit - Having liaised with @Univarn, he has reminded me that he would just copy every story that came out of Spain last summer.

Tottenham chasing Callum Wilson after striking Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg bargain with Southampton

Tottenham will turn their attention to Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson after finally sealing a deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

...

Spurs will now shift the focus to signing a back-up striker to Harry Kane, with Wilson top of their wish list.

The England striker has told the Cherries he wants out and Tottenham are favourites to beat West Ham and Newcastle to his signature.

Bournemouth want in excess of £20m for Wilson but Spurs believe the player is keen to join them and that a compromise can be reached.

Wilson, who has three years left on his contract, scored 67 goals in 180 appearances for Bournemouth.

Nailed on now The Star are reporting it!

One of my favorite players for my fantasy team couple of seasons ago. Good signing, especially since he is HG even if his injuries stopped his progression.

I got on the Ollie Watkins train after the playoff final so this now seems a lesser option.

Overall it would still be a pretty solid move however as long as his knee holds up.

He's a good PL proven striker who can fill a niche role for us. Being backup to Kane isn't an ideal job for an up and coming player new to the league, a more experienced player makes sense IMHO.

We've needed proper backup for Kane for so long, absolutely huge for us if we get him in and we can finally stop flogging Kane every single game.

I guess this is about as good as it gets in terms of backup striker. Maybe his knees won't break if he gets fewer games but 2 ligament ruptures don't sound great.

We’re desperate for a back-up striker.

Most of us would welcome Llorente back with open arms, and Wilson is objectively a better option than Llorente.

Hope we can get this done.

I am not sure anyone really was excited for Ighalo, but he looks useful for Man Utd.

Wilson is much better than Ighalo (both ability and homegrown) and deeney.

I think Watkins would be a good signing but is more high risk than Wilson who is already proven at Prem level and would probably find it easier if he doesn't get lots of minutes straight away.

Like Lamela, his availability when needed is the thing I'm worried about.

Not my first choice but he’s strong, fast, has a long shot on him and is similar enough to Harry that he could stand in for him (meaning we’d not need to weaken the flanks by shuffling Son around) but different enough that they could play well together. Decent record in this league if not spectacular (almost identical strike rate to Defoe, albeit a quarter of the matches) and I think he’ll play enough to stay sharp as Mourinho, unlike how we treated Llorente, will bring on striker number 2 on the 60th minute if we are not winning and swap him in for Harry on the 70th if we’re looking comfortable.

In a 25 man squad I see absolutely no downside with this signing. Premier league proven, good age, and played over 30 league matches in both the last two seasons (for those worried about his injuries).

I think Wilson would be a very astute signing and if we can get Hojbjerg and Wilson in for under £25 million for the pair (with the sale of KWP) then that will be incredible business from us.

Just can’t muster any excitement over this signing

I think you have to be objective about it. We need somebody who can share some of the load Kane carries at a price we can afford. We know money is tight and we also know Mourinho is unlikely to sign 'potential' ahead of 'experienced'. Wilson is home grown and has plenty of EPL experience. He could also play in a 2 up front. Downsides are that his form has suffered in Bournemouth's dreadful run and he has some injury issues, but if that wasn't the case he'd be 3x the price and we'd be out of the picture. If he's cheap enough I'm fine with it.

Wilson feels like he'd be the perfect option to start in Europa League and cup games, giving Kane the rest he needs. Equally, when the game calls for it, I feel like he and Kane would play together and it could work well.

Seems like a no-brainer.
