So apparently a convicted match fixer predicted Cameroon would lose 4-0 to Croatia and have a player sent off in the first half.

So was Alex Song on the take? It's the only thing to me that would explain his ridiculous red card.

They're (The Cameroon FA) investigating 8 players.

No wonder Benny headbutted one of his team mates!

That's the first thing I thought when I read this. It did seem totally out of character, but you can understand it if he suspected they were deliberately throwing the game.

If this is true it's totally disgusting - how could that let down their whole nation like that?

I hope it's not true, what a sour note it would bring to what has so far been an amazing WC.

Maybe their families have been threatened?

That's possible. I've got to admit I'm always a bit sceptical about these matches where they claim to have fixed the actual score. I can see a team being able to fix a loss, a sending off, time of first corner, but surely the score is a bit more difficult? And didn't one of the substitutes almost score right at the end of the match? Saying that I think they had about 17 shots and only two on target.

Not surprising really World Cup is just a pay day for most of these African teams
