So I assume if the original pilot is being charged with manslaughter, the implication is that he knew that the pilot he delegated the job to was not qualified to do it, and forced/pressured him into flying anyway, right?

It's all newspaper/sell spin bollocks.
Football is savage with the amounts involved and no side will be without their PR company spinning the facts to help their agender which will be totally financial.

It's not all spin though is it? The original pilot has actually been charged with manslaughter. They wouldn't charge him unless they were fairly sure they had enough evidence against him.

Worryingly it is the media and thus PR companies that drive the CPS.

Would he even need to force/pressure him into flying? Just Just giving the job to someone he knew wasn't qualified would be enough wouldn't it?

https://www.skysports.com/football/...noxide-says-air-accident-investigation-branch

Footballer Emiliano Sala and his pilot David Ibbotson were exposed to harmful levels of carbon monoxide in the cockpit of their private plane when it crashed in the English Channel on January 21, the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) said.

Tests on the striker's body found enough evidence of the harmful gas to cause a heart attack, seizure or unconsciousness, an interim report by the AAIB stated.

It is likely that Mr Ibbotson was also "affected to some extent" by exposure to carbon monoxide, the document added.

The AAIB said the gas can "reduce or inhibit a pilot's ability to fly an aircraft depending on the level of that exposure".

I guess they don't have carbon monoxide alarms on planes then? It seems like such a waste of life if a £10 piece of equipment could've prevented this from happening.

Pretty certain they do on all commercial jets, but on small private ones like this it's reccommended but not compulsory.

TBF, Cardiff's position is the transfer was never completed. Nantes must have initiated the legal fight. Its not like this is settled case law with tons of precedent.

it was. Cardiff just didn’t hand over the cash and UEFA already found in Nantes’ favour.

If memory serves, didnt Nantes build into the deal that it was final until after they had brought in a replacement On the closing day of the transfer window?

Why shouldn't there be an investigation into what happened in the run up to the crash? If clubs are cutting corners and risking players safety then don't we want to make sure that the same mistakes aren't made again?

It was obvious this could never end in a totally dignified way. All the money and the circumstances of the death meant what is happening was inevitable.
