Still wondering how he will get around the issue of a work permit what with not being capped by Brazil. Were murmurs Wolves tried for him last summer but couldn't push ahead due to the WP issue.
Apparently Jorge mendes is Boris’s agent so it should be alright

I don't know the first thing about immigration in the UK, let alone post-Brexit immigration. Is it genuinely difficult to get a work permit for a player who was the golden boot winner in Portugal? Not every Brazilian can get called up to the national team, they've simply got too many talented players. Surely that can't be a permanent bar to them moving to the Premier League even if they're top performers in domestic leagues on the continent.

I have to say that I don’t know of this guy, but I don’t hear everything and very much trust both JJ and Trix (who seems to have excellent connections). Will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of weeks as I thought we had a different number 1 target who is a different sort of player. These things move around a lot though and as it appears this guy was a “secret” target he could’ve always been our number 1.

Presumably if it was CV it would be a loan with an option/obligation to buy?

There have been examples of players coming to the UK straight from Brazil. Most recently Gabriel went to Arsenal without a senior international cap for Brazil. Similarly Richarlison went to Watford from Brazil. No idea if dual nationality was involved or another criteria fulfilled.

Seem to recollect something a while back regarding if a player is coming in for a 'non-nominal' fee, getting a WP wouldn't be as much of an issue.

With Mendes involved you would assume it would be anything but straight forward. When he took Jimenez and Patricio to Wolves it was on an initial loan.

Very interesting re another target, shows how wide we cast our net. I guess we had a glimpse of it last summer with Bruno/Lo Celso. Most press made Bruno sound more likely but GLC was the one we really wanted and signed.

Genuinely know nothing about the guy, he's a unit though and will lead a line giving Harry a rest when needed and maybe even playing with him if needed (Kane dropping back to a 10).

He'll need game time and this season he will get it, especially if he comes in soon.

We need a striker, albeit a backup striker and if he can do that job, that's fine by me

May be controversial but I’m sick of this Daka talk, I wasn’t impressed with his touch in the videos I’ve seen. Most goals running in behind defences. We don’t need that. We need Mr scrappy and strong with a good touch and link up play.
This guys YouTube videos are the only ones I’ve seen like that so far. He’s not actually old and does score goals. I’m not overalls excited because we have Kane but he seems a better fit than most we’ve been linked to.

at the start of the window when all the free/loan things were buzzing about if you had offered me a premier league proven right back, reliable defensive midfielder and a 40m striker I would have bitten your hand off

Just been catching up on the ITK thread and thought everyone was talking about Vinícius Júnior (Real Madrid)...was wondering how people thought a 5'9" 20 year old was an "ideal Mourinho striker".

It's a typical Spurs signing.

Why anyone at the club is still listening to our useless scouting department I do not know. Another one to go with Njie, Nkoudo, etc etc.

Pay the fucking extra and get a decent player instead of trying to be clever. We aren't clever we always fuck it up.

Depressing.

I think you need a saucer of warm milk. Its clearly been a long day for you.

I know it’s not the same and Jimenez has proven himself in the prem - however, if Jimenez was offered to us right now I am sure everyone would take him.

When wolves signed Jimenez from Benfica his record was 6 goals and 6 assists in 33. The season before Jimenez scored 7 goals and got 1 assist in 19.

Vinicius scored 18 in 32 and got 5 assists last season. When he was on loan at Rio Ave he scored 8 in 14 games. In between these two spells he struggled at Monaco as back up to Falcao - however it was during the time that Monaco were completely falling apart so you can hardly blame him.

We need to be the team that pays to bring these players in sometimes, not all will work (Janssen) However, we can’t wait for Wolves to sign him as their Jimenez replacement and then all want him once he’s gone there.

I trust Jose and Mendes to spot a good player. If they worked to make this happen I have complete faith in them. This guy is the epitome of a Jose striker. Big hardworking bastard up top, good link up too.
