Fans FC may be the worst website i know, but if nzog is wanting to leave would we like to have him at spurs?

He'd more likely go for 6-8 mill id think, but still gotta be better value than downing?? surely?

He has pace to burn, a decent left foot, similar to lennon i guess. Can also play LB on occasions. He had a good game against us last week, i say buy

The French midfielder has confirmed he is keen to quit Newcastle United in the New Year, as he looks to find a fresh challenge and regular first team football elsewhere.

"After four years at Newcastle, I want to reach a higher level of ambition," he told L'Equipe. "I have given my all to the club, but I would like to reach a new level by finding a new challenge at a new side."

Aston Villa have already been heavily linked with N'Zogbia, but the latest reports suggest Harry Redknapp is willing to pay as much as £5million for the winger.

I rated him for a couple of seasons, then he went quiet, maybe that is down to the turmoil and being unsettled at Newcy, but i wouldn't mind seeing him on the team sheet, he does score goals as well!

Nzogbia is way better than Downing, and at half the price. If both are available, only a fool would go for the Englishman.

Unfortunately for Spurs, we are being run by a bunch of fools.

N'Zogbia would seem to have every advantage over the over-rated Downing - price, age, pace, probably attitude. We don't have to trot out that "English backbone" business, since these players are out on the wing (actually, based on recent performances I wish we would build around a Croatian backbone)

In what way has N'Zogbia shown any more than Downing over the last three seasons?

Good player with plenty of potential. Under the right manager he could well become a very good player. At half the price of Downing & younger in age he is the type of signing we should be making. Fact is we wont hence wil end of paying a kings ransom for someone like Bellamy/Downing who to be frank are no world beaters, but there transfer fee's will tell you otherwise!

At half the price of Downing (at least), I think we could get Pranjic as well.
Still wish we'd gone for Srna before Bentley this summer as well.
Quality is more important than nationality in my opinion.

Not a massive step up on what we have at the mo. Potential-YES but we have had SO many like that before.
Although if you ask me if i would prefer him over Downing then OH YES PLEASE!!!!!!

I'd like either Downing or N'Zogbia. I like them both and ould prefer either on our left hand side to Bentley/Lennon or O'Hara

I'm not convinced he would do a good job for us, strikes me as the type of player that does the odd eye catching thing once or twice a season that makes the fan who sees him only so often think he is great but in reality is only so so.

I doubt he would add alot to our team, although he does have pace and for £5m could be worth I punt I guess (I am deeply concerned by the figures being banded about for other players thus far)

Something just tells me that we should go for N'Zogbia rather than Downing. Seeing him out-muscle Assou-Ekotto for their goal made evident something we have lacked for years in many positions: players with good strength. King, Corluka and Zokora are the only players in our team who have great natural strength and in a league where physicality is being an ever-increasing necessity, we need to improve this and sharpish otherwise we will go to these typically tough away venues and continue to be out-fought.

It seems as though he would be a cheaper option than Downing and IMO, be able to offer the team just as much as, if not more than, the Boro player, who will always struggle to beat his man due to a lack of real pace.

Nice one Gee. Certainly better value, regardless of the argument above

Zokora isn't strong and gets barged off the ball easily. What about Dawson, is he strong? He's stronger than Zokora thats fo sho.

Zokora, albeit not blessed with the biggest of frames, is pretty tough and holds his own. It's rather his lack of positioning and ability on the ball that make him look weak. Dawson is has fighter but is a wee bit lanky and has been outmuscled before on a few occasions, like against Man U in the FA cup last year when Rooney barged him out of the way to score.

I just think we need more of a presence on the pitch in general, especially in midfield and up front. Someone to outmuscle defenders and win headers and a big-strong and quick ball-winner would be nice. And if we add strength, like N'Zogbia, to other positions that's even better.
